Hey,

So, I thought this would be the best place to ask this, seeing as how my other resource normally seems to take everything to a rather crazy "you're going to die" extreme.

Anyway, I've been post-op since mid-July, and have been dilating so far quite successfully with stent 1, 2 and 3. However, in the last week, I found this odd patch at the tip of the introitus area around the vaginal ceiling (it definitely is on the vaginal ceiling for sure) is really light coloured on the skin around it, but in the centre it is blue, and at one point when I was still using stent 3 with this problem it was turning black.

The odd thing is that it "heals" over time, and stops having discolouration and goes to looking like just white, light/tender skin in that area, but after dilating, even with stent 1, it happens again, and goes this odd blue-ish colour. I've looked online and I have a doctor's appointment next week to look into it, but I'm getting a bit curious/worried as to what could be the cause. I'm not 100% sure what it is either.

I do have a narrow pelvic girdle, and I did have some really tight, sharp pains at times when using stent 3. It does fit, just the original push sometimes I was maybe having to be a bit rougher than I'd have liked, and sometimes when it passed that opening area there'd be a large pain accompanying it, in the way of a sharp stinging pain.

Is it perhaps a microtear that has caused a bruise? Could this be something else or could it be leading to necrosis? I've been careful with cleaning, douching etc all the time and so far the only reason it doesn't seem to be healing is because even though I'm only using stent 1 for the time being now, I'm still having to dilate quite often and it doesn't seem to be giving the area sufficient time to heal.

If I could get some advice on the matter then I would absolutely be thankful for any advice or insights anybody could give.

Many thanks,
Nikky

I have not a clue. Good you are seeing your doctor. It does not sound like Granulation tissue being you said it was more white and blue. Maybe it is just a patch of scar tissue. Necrosis i think would be something that would stay blue or black all the time?

Hope you get the answers. Just never give up on dilations, yes they are not fun but it is needed.

Keep us advised on how things go.

Will do, and yeah, I was of the same opinion. I think it's just bruised but I certainly want to be sure.

And yeah, dilations are not fun but need doing amen to that. Just counting down to the one year mark that I can start to ease up on those.

From what I would say it seems more like a bruise than anything else, which could have come from going swimming and having exercise but we'll know in a few days. I'll just push for a sooner appointment with a gyno and see what comes of it.

Will make sure to let you know how it goes :)

EDIT: I did manage to finally get an appointment, and they pretty much said they can't do anything as they're not experienced in the field well enough. For now it's just hoping that the bruise subsides, even though this is negatively affecting my dilation pattern it seems the best thing I can manage. Who would have though getting an appointment with a doctor would be such a hassle too?
