Does anyone else have an obsession with really fancy tuxedos/suits? Because I freaking love them! I can't wait to complete my transition years from now and start wearing suits and look fabulous!  ;D

Like Gatsby. :P

I have an unhealthy obsession with a lavender tuxedo cosplay based on King Endymion's tuxedo in Sailor Moon.  Here's a picture of it.

One of the things I'm doing after I get my top surgery done is getting a customized cosplay tuxedo like this.  I will be cosplaying in that tuxedo.  Not only that, I will go to church in that tuxedo and I will be getting married in that tuxedo.  I will lounge around at home in this tuxedo.

Yes!  I love vests, ties, suits, etc.  Actually, I got lucky and found a nice vest recently, and then had cause to wear it!  Awesome!  Here's a picture.  (This picture has not been altered.  This is exactly what my face looks like when I wear a nice vest.)

Yes! I've told my wife I'm going to wear vests/ties/collared-button on shirts/suits all the damn time. I love them though I don't consider myself preppy.
Yours truly,

Tobias.

I seem to have a thing for the business casual style so I love things like this:

My girlfriend always talks about the ties she wants to get me and she's already planning on buying me a suit after I've transitioned.  ;D

Yes! I love suits. Always wanted to have one. Just a black, fancy one.
Whenever I was invited to a fancy dress party, I was jealous on the guys being allowed to wear suits, while the women had to wear stupid dresses. So I never went.

But soon now. Sooooonnnn.

I love suits with a passion. That is one thing that I will love forever because looking nice is something I always want to do. I have a couple old school style zoot suits  ;D

The only suit I've ever had the chance to wear was a purple one I got from the thrift store for a cosplay, haha. I'd love to wear a proper suit and tie one time, though! After I walked into my bedroom to find my boyfriend wearing my senior prom dress (and after I got over the initial surprise, haha), he casually suggested that one Mardi Gras the two of us go to the parades with him wearing a prom dress and me wearing a tuxedo. Haha, I'd still very much like to do that one time, but I think it probably won't end up happening. In any case, I'll still find an opportunity to wear a nice suit by myself one time!

LOL @ Farm Boy

I was never that big into suits, but I did start liking them more after reading After School Nightmare.

He just looks so fancy in them. <3

I think what I worry about more than anything is that'd I'd have trouble finding something in my size. I bought a woman's vest before (I think just a medium), and it was about two sizes too big for me. For that reason, I feel like finding men's clothes would be even harder (although I can't really say I've tried). Maybe one say I'll find a nice dress shirt and alter the vest I have and see how it looks. If I like it, I might try for the fancy look more often. :)

I do have a good obsession with casual ties, though. Most of the bfs I've had in the past can't put a tie on, but I can do it perfectly in ten seconds, haha. I even have a few fancy ties that I wore with casual outfits sometimes, although I haven't found any casual men's clothes yet to wear them with (I always wore them as a girl). So maybe once I find a good fancy suit or outfit, I can start wearing them again.

Gotta love a nice suit and the confidence they put into your walk.  I wish it was a little easier to lift your arms in them though.

I got myself a suit really cheap at H&M, not amazing, but a pretty nice suit for the price.

I have dreamed of wearing a tuxedo since prom, looks like that wont happen till I convince my babe to get married haha

Funny you mention prom! I wore a suit to mine! I hated the jacket though, it made me look so fat and it was ungodly hot to wear. So I just rocked the vest and pants, and I looked damn good I think :)

I like wearing clothes that fit, and when I "dress up" I really want to dress up. Sadly, it's really hard to find fitted clothing. I'm not going to buy anything too fitted and fancy until my body has settled in shape.

Wouldn't say I have an obsession either. But I really like how I look in a tie. I think it sort of allows me to be more masculine. So it is kind of a cool thing. I never really liked the way I looked as a girl/woman. I agree re: properly fitting clothes but it is so hard now.

I love suits, especially the vest look that others have posted pictures of above. Unfortunately, I can't find any men's suits that fit and actually look good on me since I am short and with shoulders that are smaller than the average cismen.

I think I am going to start going for a more andro look at work since I currently wear female suits there.

I have that problem too.  My best answer has been the kids' section.  I'm 5' 7" so most stuff is too short, but sometimes I get lucky.  The vest I'm wearing in the picture is actually a size 12 in children's.  I figure if I ever get a suit, I'll have to pay to get it tailored because I doubt I'll ever find one that fits.

$300 will get you a completely custom made suit.
Seen here
There's also this:

for $129 which isn't that bad.

I am rather fond of dress shirts and ties on myself. I find suits to be uncomfortable and warm. One day, I aspire to hold a job that requires a dress shirt/tie attire, and then I will own 50 of each.

I have a fondness for anachronistic apparel and long coats.

The tux I wore to prom, I hated the jacket so I just left it off the entire night. I absolutely loved the shirt and vest combo!
