Hi Everyone,

I hope I don't take flak for this or flame anyone. But here goes nothing.

Since things have started going downhill finacially for me - I don't think I'd ever be able to afford SRS anytime soon, probably not for another 20+ years if I'm lucky. So I am seriously considering orchiectomy. But that leaves me wondering if it's a good option to consider?

So I thought I'd put this poll out to help figure it out since I don't really know anyone who's had an orchiectomy done.

Also, getting an orchiectomy done instead of SRS would make it difficult for me to get my gender markers changed.

And what are the possibilties of having SRS after orchie - is it possible - or just more expensive or impossible?
Sometimes when life is a fight - we just have to fight back and say screw you - I want to live.

Sometimes we just need to believe.

A orchi is a great way to cut down on meds you have to take and a good step if your not doing srs anytime soon. It made things so much more easy for me back in the day when I had mine before srs

Thanks Tristan, I think I am going to have to seriously consider going for an orchie. I just need to figure out when.

The savings would help me a lot. Not to mention make it easier for me to relax about the T in my body.

I am just wondering though, if somehow I did manage to get enough for SRS but if I've gone in for orchie would it make SRS more difficult and expensive. That's kinda what's bothering me about orchie ???

yeah it will help you with saving. and if you put the money in the bank you would have spent on blookers then you will be able to get srs before you know it.

Small note of caution: some SRS techniques don't work quite as well after orchi, so you may want to check whether your surgeons of choice are able to handle post-orchi SRS.

I'm considering an orchie myself as I'm not sure yet about SRS. I am going to makes sure that avenue is not closed though.

I had an orchi and several years later was having a pre-srs consultation with Dr. Marcie Bowers. She looked at the business and said no problem! I still had a lot of scrotal tissue ten years after the Orchi because the urologist used a single small incision in the center of the scrotum and drew everything out through there pulling it together with a single dissolving stitch and butterfly. Anyone interested in an intimate description of the 41 minute procedure is free to email me and I'll be happy to respond.

Getting the legal wide done with orchi is a matter of the wording of the letter the doctor makes to attest to surgery. As far as eventual genital surgery, it depends on a couple things (scaring as mentioned) and if anything shrinks (or rather, the skin gets thicker).
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.
