World of Disappointment

Some people say the world is all love and peace,
(IN MY EXPERIENCE IT IS COLD AND UNFORGIVING)
And some people say that beauty comes from within
(WELL THEN EVERYONE IS EXTREMELY UGLY)
And others say that everyone has a good side
(IN MY EXPERIENCE EVERYONE HAS A DARK SIDE)
And everyone deserves a second chance
(THEY'LL DISAPPOINT YOU OVER AND OVER)

But the people of this earth are but humans
and they make mistakes too
and they all have problems of their own
and may feel sorry for the way they treated you

There's no rhyme to it
nor reason
it's been there for a long time
just repressed

I can't be that insane
My mind going back and forth
Something wrong with my brain
Or an opened door?

Proud father vacationing in Spain
With blond-haired dumb Betty
Not giving a crap about any of us
While all this stuff makes me feel crappy

Spending my days distracting myself
in a prison of my own
What boring stuff is it going to be today
Living a life of false smiles and laughs

Pink Floyd were so wrong
This lunatic never even touched the grass
But definitely remembers days long since passed
