Hi -I'm a 53 trans-woman, I've been pretty close to full-time for about a year and work as a maintenance person
in the Twin Cities MN area.  I play blues harmonica with a small group at Legions and pizza places and stuff like that
and am a member of a very large LGBT choir.  I'm hoping to change my name (to Stacy) and my gender marker (to F ) in the
next month or so (cash to file the forms is the only hold up, that and I think I want a lawyer when I go in to see the
Judge) I have a few trans, Lesbian and straight friends -I'm not very passable (which matters more than anyone wants to
admit I think) but other than not being able to meet a guy who wants to go on a date, in general I'm healthy and active and
a lot happier than I thought I ever would be when I started this whole thing a few years ago. I thought it might be good
to have an online resource for transitioning and general trans-related information, so that's why I'm here.

-Stacy Wilderness

(oh PS - I don't do drag very often but as a part-time trans musician sometimes I'll go to a gay bar and play my harmonica
"in drag" which looks a lot like when I'm not in drag except that I'm in 4" heels and I wear a corset and I stuff stuff in a
"D" cup bra -it's all very silly really but when I do this I use Stacy Wilderness as my stage name, Stacy something else will
be my legal name)

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Hello, there, Stacy, it's very nice to meet you! Welcome to Susan's! I hope you're able to find the resources you're looking for here. You sound like you have a very active social life with all the various activities you take part in! Being able to play blues harmonica is an especially cool talent to have! Also, I know you said that you're not very passable, but I just wanted to let you know that you look very passable to me in that picture and I really do mean that.

Stacy, I think you look beautiful! You look like this lady my mom's really good friends with.  Seriously.  If I saw your picture and didn't know, I would say you looked like someone's mom.
Courage is the power that turn dreams into reality.
