Okay, so even though my facial hair isn't tooo bad (it's pretty thin, pretty patchy and grows in reaal slow, and is mostly concentrated on my neck) it's there and it is a huge source of dysphoria, for me.
Recently I was looking for ways to get a close shave WITHOUT razor bumps, and discovered something called wet shaving. Which is like an old-fashioned way of shaving using a safety razor.
I am sooo excited to have gotten an extremely close shave *sans* razor bumps (a couple cuts cuz I misguessed the amount of pressure needed). My skin not only looks smooth it FEELS smooth, yaay!
Now, one thing I haaate is the awful, repugnant smell of the nasty-ass soap you need to use, but you can just cover that up with some perfume (I use Mary Kay).
All in, supa glad I discovered this because I won't be able to afford laser removal until I get a job, and lord only knows when THAT will be!
I just thought I'd let you all know about it. What you will need (leaving product names out, here, but I'm sure you'll find the best ones) are:
Safety razor, approx. $35
Extra blades (100 of them) a little less than $10
Badger hair brush approx. $15
Soaps for lathering approx $10
All in all I spent about $70, but it was worth it because it *does* save money in the long run (essentially, that box of blades gives you 100 razors for $10, which is absolutely unheard of). Sorry if I sound like a commercial XD I'm just excited about my new little find!
And one more liiil tip - lots of women use it for their legs, too
