Drabble post about my chest post-op and life

I have no one in my immediate life to really talk to/at about this so I just wanted to make a thread. No questions present, just me being happy about my chest. I went to Dr. McLean in Ontario only a couple weeks ago and said goodbye to my double D moobs. Since then i've been happily recovering, having a couple painful days, of course, but over all healing well. I've felt well enough to go out and walk my horse around (just on a lead, he may be small but I can't figure out how to get up on him without hurting myself just yet) and I have been drawing my bow (archery) every night to full draw. I can only hold once for about twenty seconds before it starts to hurt my chest, but I can do it already and that's what pleases me! It's amazing how much smaller I feel now. Before my chest took up so much room in my clothes, even with binding, now i'm wearing clothes a size smaller (I could go smaller, except I need to get rid of some belly fat first).

Unfortunately now that i've had top surgery my mild dysphoria has continued south, now settling a little bit on my weight (though I'm doing very well at loosing it!) and unfortunately my plumbing. It's nice to see options (that work for me) on the horizon with regards to my plumbing but as of right now nothing exists that I want, so it's packers and STP's for me for awhile.

Still the second I had the surgery I decided that was my green card to use the men's public bathroom. I haven't had one incident yet and i'm so happy about that, because i'd never go into the men's bathroom before my surgery. Luckily i'm fairly androgynous and simply 'become' the gender people want me to be for the most part (just by looking, if I speak opinions change a bit) so this is what allows me to go into the men's room I think, though If I needed too, I could still (currently) go into the ladies room and probably be fine.

With regards to my chest and how it's healing, it looks great. Dr.McLean was amazing, I had lots of excess fat and big DD breasts and he gave me amazing results. I have absolutely no dogearing occurring, and my chest looks like a man's already, the scars are thin, he used no drains and I couldn't be happier. I only have two mild problem areas, both on the left side of my body. Along the scar he had to end it in two prongs (like a Y, with the v being under my arm and the l being towards the front of my chest) so this caused some puckering between the incisions and a mild mild infection, but i've been treating it with polysporin and it's looking much better, it way less painful and not hot anymore. The only other problem area in my left nipple, which unfortunately seems to have stretched vertically a bit, making it oval instead of round. This I believe might be my own fault though because I have an injury in my left shoulder that forces me to hold my shoulder extremely oddly, as opposed to the right shoulder. I think this distorted the nipple a bit. I'm not too worried though, it's not extremely noticeable and I intend to get my chest tattoo'd on that side anyways, so i'll just distract from it with art.

So overall i'm very very pleased, I even went shopping a couple days after my surgery and fulfilled my 'dream/wish' of having the first thing I bought post-op to be formal dress related and bought myself two beautiful dress shirts and a beautiful tie.

I am not longer on any painkiller, as I don't feel I need it and shoulder be able to move to bandaids soon. Odd thing I just noticed glancing down it that while I seem to have more feeling in my right nipple, in my left, the skin has actually raised a bit (like a normal nipple does when it's a bit cold, etc) so that's exciting.

But that's the end of my happy rant thanks for listening!

Ps: To anyone in Canada looking to get their chest done, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. McLean in Ontario, his staff were so incredibly kind to my and my mom, they treated me with loads of respect and kindness, answered my every email and phone call. They also have a deal going on with the adjoined hotel where McLean patients get a discount. The Hotel, the Novatel was incredibly clean, the maid saw I was post surgery and ensured she changed my sheets every single day (they don't usually), bringing me extra pillows and blankets. The entire experience was great, after my operation the nurse even put me in a wheelchair and wheeled me to my room in the hotel, I didn't even have to get up.If anyone is thinking of Dr. McLean and wants to talk to me more about my experience I am happy to answer any emails or pm's.

Glad to hear it worked out. Looks like you'll be lucky and not need any revision. Enjoy!
