My feet are shrinking

Well, I had this pair of my favourite unisex 41 size brown leather Camel Active lace loafers and today I noticed that one of them is finally falling apart from inside. Since they are... were on laces, I never had any issues with their size, I just laced them up and they fitted nicely.
So, I took out another pair of laceless loafers, which I grabbed a couple of years ago - they always fitted too, even being a bit tight in some spots. So I put them on, made a couple of steps and almost stepped out of them.
Wow.
It means, I am in the European size 40 now, which would be female 6½ for UK or 9 for US. I wonder if this could be because of spiro or this is the result of me loosing quite a weight during last couple of months (I am around 160 lbs now for 5"9'). My feet were always on the small side, but yeah... I suddenly imagined that I could be able to wear some of those cute shoes I always drooled about :P. Maybe they could shrink a bit more? *wishful thinking*

I would say probably more likely losing weight. Depending on your body type, they may shrink some more if you keep losing weight though. You can still wear cute shoes because size 9 in women's isn't that uncommon for a ciswoman of 5'9". I'm 5'10 and wear a size 10. I think it's more proportional than anything else. Good luck on the weight loss, I am in the process myself with a target of at least 150 with 30 pounds to go.

I'm keen to hear more as you progress. Maybe my feet will lose a little "weight" and fit something smaller than a US size 13 women's which is quite the pricey shoe.

I wish they would loose a bit in terms of width too - I have always had problems with finding a decent pair which would fit me and also look good. I should be able to go down to 150-155 by loosing a bit from my waist and then there are only my tighs left, which in fact should be the feminine type of fat, no? Apart of that, well, my muscles. Main bulk being in my legs again...

While I have always had very narrow feet (to the extent that a shoemaker once I visited to get a special pair of shoes made gave up and used a female width), I've been set at size 9.5 / 40.5 for the longest time.

Not too long ago I measured my feet, and then proceeded to get out the old measurements to confirm it: they've shrunk. I've not lost any weight between the measurements, and as for fat ... my bathroom scale pegs me at 10% body fat and with 129 lbs (58.5kg) at slightly over 5ft 9in I believe it. So it's not fat. No idea what happened, but I tried a bunch of size 9 / 40 shoes today, and some of them were even a tad large, but they all fit (one foot has always been a few mm larger than the other, so one of the two will always be a bit lost).

As a few females friends already said: "Congratulations, you now have a shoe size where you can fight with just under half of the female population to get a discounted pair before they're gone." :P

Amen girls, now about those shoe sales?

I'm still trying to track down a nice pair of running shoes and something like a cute pair of Vans or Converse to wear that wont break the bank.

Have you tried QVC or The Home Shopping Network? I swear, there must be a lot of us girls that order from there. When I watch it and when it comes to shoes, the larger sizes sell out before the smaller sizes. I'm kind of lucky because sometimes I can get away with a 9 1/2 and more often than not a 10 and most stores carry those sizes and very rarely sell out of them and I can try on, pay for and be out the door in a flash.

I had to dump a bunch of nice heels the other day, simply because they no longer fit... way too big. I gave some to family, friends, and the rest to Goodwill. I had some nice shoes in there too... Jimmy Choo, Prada, Christian Louboutin... not cheap stuff. I hope my mom enjoys the purple crocodile Louboutins she got. Those were a personal favorite of mine and very hard to find. :icon_cry: :icon_cry2: This was over a period of 3-4 years for me.

Note to self... do not spend too much money on shoes/clothes when on HRT.

Yeah, so true. Due to my weight loss I have also dropped down one size in male wardrobe as well. While this does not really bother me in terms of shirts and t-shirts (larger ones should be perfect to cover up sports bras when I get into that part of development :P), but I look funnily and totally out of size in most of my jackets - like some kind of scarecrow :P

Though your bone structure does not change due to HRT, you can lose muscle mass in your feet, as well as some fat.
