Shinya

Hey,
I'm Shinya (I don't like giving away my real name online), 19 years old and from Germany. Transitioning from female to male.
Hope my english is okay, because I'm always nervous posting in new communities. Guess I'm a nervous person in general.

I always felt more like a boy but ignored this feeling for many years, dressing feminine, wearing make-up but always felt confused about sexuality and identity like something was wrong. 3 years ago I finally realised what my problem is and I feel more at peace with myself since then and no longer confused.

After many years my old therapist who never took any of my problems seriously (I'm mostly in therapy because of anxiety problems) stopped working with me and I just got a new one who doesn't ignore my problems or gets annoyed with me. So I feel like I'm finally making progress which is one of the reasons I decided to join susans after reading as a guest before now and then.  :P

Right now I pass as androgyn because of my eyes and the fact I refuse to cut my hair short. But I hope once I'm on T I'll be able to pass.

Hi Shinya, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 11625 . That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Rinzler

Hello, Shinya, it's nice to meet you! Welcome to Susan's!

I'm glad to hear that you feel more at peace with yourself now and that you switched to a more helpful therapist. As someone who sees a therapist regularly for depression and anxiety, I know what a big difference the right therapist can make.

Also, that's really cool that you're from Germany! I've never been outside of the U.S., but Germany is one of the places I've always wanted to travel to.

Hey Rinzler, nice to meet you too

it's funny because I've never been outside of germany except for england and always wanted to travel to the U.S.! :)

Thanks Jamie,

I was surprised to see that. I really like communities with members from all over the world.
Such welcoming and tolerant places like susans are rare.

I hope nobody minds if I take some time to look around before I start posting much.

About 60 million Americans are German descendents, and we compriese the largest ethnic group in America... :)

I am 85 % Frisian (R1a1b1b2a1a1) from Groningen  8)...The Frisii were recorded in history by the Roman as part of the Germanic tribes.

QuoteThe primary Frisian Y-DNA haplogroup is the R1b subclade called U106/S21, defined by its mutations U106 (and L48) and negative for P312. It's coded by Family Tree DNA as haplogroup R1b1b2a1a. Its subclades include R1a1b1b2a1a1, R1a1b1b2a1a2, R1a1b1b2a1a3, and R1a1b1b2a1a4. U106 is also found among partial descendants of Frisians like English people, as well as in parts of Benelux, Germany, and Denmark. http://www.khazaria.com/genetics/frisians.html

Wow I had no idea! Thank you for sharing that! I am used to hearing the occasional "I have roots in Germany" but I had no idea there's so many :)
