I want to tell you about legal situation with LGBT in Russia.
I think that Russia is one of the most homophobic countries.
We have a laws against LGBT in effect. Campaign against "promotion of non-traditional relationships among children" began one year ago. I think that our government found a good excuse to distract people from other issues
On a background campaign against LGBT community we have many aggressive actions against LGBT people.
At first the law against "promotion of non-traditional relationships among children" was accepted in small towns, but now the law is discussed at the level of the State Duma.
Russian Orthodox Church takes more active approach to controlling minds of people. I think that you know about Pussy Riot. And right now we have a project of a law on criminal responsibility for insulting the feelings of believers.
We have a law which prohibits companies receiving money coming from other countries from engaging in political activities. And now LGBT companies have many problems from it too. LGBT film festival "Side by Side" went to court and they lost.
