Lobby Days: ENDA

June 17th will be Lobby Day.  From the Transequality website: http://www.transequality.org/ourmoment/FAQs.html

This is the year when our lobbying efforts will push the US Senate to move on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). Our Lobby Day will also outline the stake transgender people have in the fight for immigration reform.

Your voice has the potential to change the debate and move ENDA and immigration reform forward.

I plan on going with my wife and a friend. Will anyone else be attending? This takes place June 17th, Washington DC.

I am struggling to pay for lites and heat, how am I going to go to DC? I write to congressmen and pray they do what I request.

I am so proud of Keaira for going to do this. I think it is really cool. If I was anywhere closer (i.e. not in Canada, lol) I would love to accompany her too. She's gone through so much (even lost her job due to discrimination at work) but she is proud to stand up as a transgender woman and tell others that what she has experienced in the workplace is wrong. I have so much respect and admiration for her for going to stand up for our rights (at least, the trans people in the States), and for standing up for what she believes in. She sets an example that I hope to follow.

So, I am now in the Baltimore area. Just 5 miles away from our nation's capital. Tomorrow evening we will have our reception. Then Monday its hot n heavy with the lobbying.
