Wait, so let me get this straight.  You are at a Trans conference and the people at the hotel said that?  Didn't they get a talk of how to properly behave?  That's crappy, I'm sorry.

I just saw this thought I'd jump in-- wrong side of the fence and all. Anyway, I stayed in the same hotel. I was misgendered a bunch but nothing as blatant or anything rude at all. Yikes! Though I did not ask where the "men's room" as I didn't think I wanted them to make the decision to behave or not. Anyway, I don't think they were given a head's up or anything. There was a pretty diverse crowd at the hotel, and we didn't take up the whole place by any stretch. But you'd think they'd do a Trans 101 with them?? I saw no evidence it was done at all.
