Freckles?

Has anyone experienced the sudden appearance of freckles while on hormones?  One of my friends noticed them and asked if I always had them (I didn't).  It doesn't bother me (actually, I think it's rather cute).  It just surprised me as I didn't even think about the possibility of this happening.

I used to have them as a kid, but thought they were gone completely. Exfoliating regularly prior to starting HRT made me realise that they might still exist, but you had to know about them in order to spot that. Queue in HRT and they're back, not quite as extreme as way back when, thank goodness, but visible to the world. Basically your upper skin becoming thinner seems to allow the pigment patches to shine through again.

I have had one or two new ones pop up, some in rather odd spots...like on a finger, or on a toe...i did have a friend go from no freckles at all to a bunch all over.

Oestrogen can do that. Watch high levels of oestrogen as that can cause melasma.

Thanks for the replies!  I think they're cute, too!  Isn't it strange what changes we get that we weren't expecting at all?

Yup, this summer I got freckles on my face where I've never had them. I also find them cute .

yes this wasn't somthing that was covered in my research either prior to me starting HRT so I was pretty suprised when I saw them
I'm really pale so they show up, they only really appear in summer, on my face arms (Across the bridge of my nose) and shoulders.

I had a few as a kid but they vanished, and now reappeared.
