Although I love shoes (and now I understand why women love them), buying them has been a learning process. There are certain brands that I can buy, because I know the have my size and fit my feet. Of course I also learn that different type of shoes require that I buy different sizes. It has not helped either that my left foot is sightly larger. This has been a problem specially with closed shoes. I wear size 12 shoes (female)....Sometimes I feel like all the nice shoes are available in a smaller size, but not in my size. The other thing is that some of the  more comfortable shoes are zoo expensive....but after trying cheaper shoes for years, I came to realize that it was better to spend some more in nice shoes than buying many cheaper pairs that were not comfortable to walk in. Regarding heels, I find walking in them so liberating, it just feel normal and try to wear them as often as I can. I also love clogs (I have always lowed them, since I was a child, something about the look and the noise you make when you walk in them I guess)

Well, thanks for sharing your experience. Sadly it's not like it helps me. I DID try on everything I could, including what I hated and what I couldn't afford, and found nothing but a pair of sneakers that fit. (and even then, if you saw how stretched upwards it looks, you'd put quotes around fit) Oh yeah, there was that weird netty thing, but no, just no, too ugly.

I gots big feet too so don't feel bad, on the bright side they are good for swimming

Mine are not. I don't have big feet (size 9), I have high feet. Effectively they're more hydrodynamic this way, meaning they're less potent at swimming than normal feet.

12ww and I think this caused me the most frustration and retraint toward transitioning when I was younger.  What was I supposed to do...go barefoot?

Nowadays there are several places to find cute shoes for big feet if you're patient and shop online.    :)

Sadly, I don't think this will help me. My problem REQUIRES to try things on. As I said, my problem isn't large feet, but normal length feet with an unusual length.

Let's see:
Zappos
ShoeBuy
OmeStopPlus
Avenue and Lane Bryant both online and in store...,that's just off the top of my head.

A, I the same problem with the very top of my feet. What I do is look for shoes that are open in that area, and I have found many cute sandals and of course there's always pumps or flats.

I hope that helps.  :-)

You need to get to a shoe warehouse and try absolutely everything on. Do such things exist? I wish you luck in your shoe hunting.

I purchased a pair of sandals for summer to tan nearly all of the top sides of my feet.
The size is 265 mm (about US ladies' 10).

Thanks Tristan.
That kind of style is a trend here. I saw some young ladies wear them, and I ordered online. The price is just ca. US$ 20.

Love my feet, size 10 is small enough for me, most womens shoes fit well & it feels great to go shoe shopping & try on some new heals.  However I just hate my toe nails, it is so difficult to remove the polish I could just scream, they have so many little rough areas it's so hard to remove all the polish. I'm trying to use a clear coat on top first so the "red" polish will not creep into every corner so maybe this will help. I sure hope so.

My hands have nice smooth nails & they are easy, but no idea why my toes have such funny rough shapped nails?

Anyone else have funny toe nails???

Sadly, I have that problem with my whole feet. Even the toes and just above them are very high
Flats that are open at the top usually feel like they want to my toes off, and they cut into the skin pretty bad. Only things that could fit relatively easily are sandals made entirely of adjustable straps, but as I said, ortheses tend to look awkward in sandals. Not to mention that sometimes, the adjustable straps just aren't long enough to tie around my feet.

Also, I'm sorry, but I've never liked coloured nail polish, especially not red. The only things I like are special colours associated with a special look, like black for a Gothic or emo look, for example. And for fingers, I like those intricate, artful fake nail designs... but only for a minute, after which the art-viewing is over and usable fingers are in order. Maybe it's a generation thing or something about the nationality, or maybe I just have weird tastes. Either way, nail polish isn't going to make me feel better.

Yes. I still run about 5 km everyday, sometimes 15 km (about 10 miles). In summer, it is easy to tan my skin and loose my weight a little bit.
