This isn't so much of coming out as it is a realisation of my moms thoughts since she's known for about 4 months.

I was texting with her this morning (I know...but I'm in Korea, she's in the US...). Here's a screen shot of what she said.

I think she's more excited than me...  :P

Omg, I love your mom! I hope mine is like that when I finally get my ass around to telling her, lolz.

Seriously, though. That's awesome.

Thanks~  As much as i don't show my emotion...it made me smile.   She's even making me come home (bought me a plane ticket) to go to a conference in seattle for trans folk.

Don't know how my dad will react. Hopefully not negative, but obviously, parents can surprise you in positive ways~

It reminds me of the recent news on an international adoptee who is m2f transgender:

Oh my goodness, that's so sweet! You're very lucky to have such an accepting mother!

That's so sweet! It makes such a difference when other people ask you about things and show genuine interest instead of it always being a one way thing.

I read that story before. I have a feeling I'm not going to have quite the same reception with my "other" family...Kind of worried about it since I have 3 older brothers, 1 of which is a twin.

Side note, sent an email to my dad last night. Apparently he check it like, 2 minutes after I sent since he was just waking up. He sounded just as supportive (no surprise there since one of his bio daughters is lesbian and he was really happy for her when she and her partner had their 2 year commitment ceremony a few years back...), though it was more reserved. Concerned for my future and at this point, he didn't really ask too many questions other than what am I taking and if Korea is ac accepting as other countries in the world. Not as many personal interest questions as my mom. No problem with that. I DO like to keep SOME info to myself.  :P

In my case, my sister has been stubborn, and her husband, too. She always likes arguing with people, and her husband is jobless. But anyway she has no choice but to accept and sometimes meet me. My brother and father accepted and understood me so much surprisingly.
