I started using the Tria regularly on my face for about 3 weeks after I had my 6th and final pro laser session.

I was almost completely clear after pro session #6, but the Tria has already taken me there less than a month after (I've used it twice on my face so far)

Hair ejections like crazy, and no swollen / red skin at all the next day or day after. I usually do it at night and the next morning I look back to normal. Then like usual, hair ejections came each time about a week later.

I've been using it on the highest setting of 5, and I'm nowhere near burning myself or causing damage to my skin. This is most likely because I've already had a good amount of pro laser. It still hurts like a #$%^& on the upper lip but that's also how you know it really does work. But mostly, it's the hair ejections.

I know barbie has used the Tria successfully from start to finish, and I'm sure the numbers will start growing because this thing really does work.

Good for you!!!
I was considering it...
Still undecided though...

I'm still really glad I had every single one of the 6 sessions of pro laser. To start Tria any sooner would have been ludicrous for me. I used to have one of those noon o'clock shadow things going on. Twasn't a pretty sight trying to cover that with makeup all day. Luckily I was still in androgynous mode at that point.

Glad to hear the Tria is working for you Jenny. Can't believe how well it works; my Silk'n experience is about the same. Down to probably like 40% growth after 5 sessions. Could in no way afford to do as much laser as I have with the IPL.

I really think I'll stick with the high speed duet to the end
Only coz I get a price of like
650 Canadian for face...and every square
Inch from neck to toes...

Hard to beat that...

Oh kay... This time I finally won it :P. Now, a couple of weeks to wait for delivery and... Jenny, in due time, would You mind if I be dropping You couple of PMs with questions? :) Like which numbing creme You were using and other useful hints and tips? :)

Yeah go for it!!

I got the numbing crime from the laser salon and it was left over from my previous sessions.

I just did the tria again last night. Still way hurts. But holy cow my upper lip has never looked so clear. In loooooove with lasers right now.

Jennygirl: Thanks soo much for sharing your experience! I was wondering, are you using the Tria 3 or 4? The reason I ask is that awhile back I heard some slightly negative reviews on the Tria, however I can't remember which version those reviews were about.

I did read that the 4 is awesome, and I think I'll be purchasing one in the next month or so!

thankyou!

I hope it works but I wouldn't count on it 100% any laser will not get the lighter hairs and even if you are young there will still be some light ones.

laser also is not permanent...I have had 8 maybe 9 laser sessions on face...I have been totally clear 4-5 weeks after my 3rd to the last but eventually little ones would creep up...if not for electro (the only permanent solution) I would still have hairs show up. Laser on the arms and legs works very well...I have had one session on arms and there is a noticeable difference....with one or two more I should almost be hair free. My chest has had 2 sessions and elctro on the upper area....it has also stayed clear fairly well.

I have heard some say they were clear after 6 sessions... only to here them say much has come back 6-8 months later. Most times it will take 10-12 sessions and even then electro will still be needed.

I can't imagine though how much electro I would have needed if not for laser!!

Aww you're so welcome! Yeah I am using the 4. I think the 3 may have been a little more powerful, but I think I remember reading some stuff about it like it was burning people or something.

I've had nothing of that sort with the 4. Last night I actually did a double pass on the upper lip like my laser tech used to do (and I had it on the highest setting again) with no issues whatsoever. My face was red and ever so slightly puffy when I went to bed and looked totally normal when I woke up.

Also I do gently cleanse my face afterwards with Dr. Bonners and splash witch hazel on a few times before going to bed. It's possible the witch hazel helps a lot, but I really doubt the tria would harm you unless you tried to use it on a thick virgin beard.

That's kinda why I love being able to do this at home by myself. You don't need to pay for additional treatments with the Tria, you just do it whenever you need to. And I don't mind a little maintenance. Especially if I don't have to shave.

As far as the white hairs, yeah. I've plucked a few cause there aren't many. Tons of cis women do it, too.

Maybe someday I will get electro, but honestly I'm not too worried about it. Considering where I came from with a crazy thick coarse beard, the amount of management it takes now is nadda!

The numbing cream is "Lidocane" and I'm pretty sure you can pick it up at any drugstore.

Thanks. I took a look, & it looks to me like that will never be an option. My hair is white/blonde, so it said "Only works on Black/Brown hair"
Ugh. Electrolysis :(
Sounds painful.
Thanks anyway...!

EDIT: Has anyone tried the "No!No!" before? I know it's not permanent, but....

My Tria  no longer works as the battery was out. Be careful in purchasing Tria through eBay as its longevity is ca. 3 yrs.

I still see a few fine hairs on my legs, armpits and face, but they are unnoticeable. I may purchase another Tria next year to completely remove. For this summer, shaving or plucking would be enough. I may be too picky, as I am so much preoccupied with those few fine hairs.

Barbie~~
Just do it.

I assume the battery is rechargeable and is sealed in the unit. I've replaced such batteries in a lot of different devices. The manufacturers almost always use standard size industrial batteries with solder tabs. You just have to open the device casing, check the battery type, go online and order one. Replacing requires a little soldering, but it's not difficult. If you can't do it, persuade a geeky friend to do it for you.

Thats exactly what I plan on doing. Depending on what voltage the battery is (I'm guessing somewhere between 5-12v) I might just hook up a wall wart power supply and never have to recharge :)

If I do end up doing this I'll post tutorial pics / video. Soldering is fun!

Unfortunately that e-bay lot which I won did not get through - seller was kinda newbie and said that Paypal is blocking his transactions with value over than 100 USD, he then issued refund and offered to go with other payment options. As far as I know about Paypal, if he had his account blocked, he should be having troubles already - and I am not comfortable enough to deal with someone from Malaysia with low feedback and most of that being for 1-2 USD items anyway to go via alternative payment methods -which would cost me more anyway. So, I am looking at another lot and wanted to ask which generation model is this one? Is this 4x or Gen 3?

That looks like the 3
