People stopped buying new cars and if they did, they bought cars made by Japanese, Chinese, and Korean companies, not the Chevys i was making parts for so the plant went on reduced production and shut my line down until further notice....its been almost 7 months now and still no word about my line coming back up. To make it even worse there is only one plant in my area that does progressive roll forming.

I have been on hormones since August last year. I used to suffer migraines at least once a week but within about a month from the start of taking hormones the migraines have almost disappeared - I still get the occasional one - but what a relief! I asked the doctor about it - he could not give me an answer other than he did not think he could prescribe this type of migraine control to other males - lol.

Before HRT I had never had a migraine, at least not that I can remember. Post-HRT is a whole different story though.

After having been on hrt about 16 months I had to come off before my first surgery. About 1 1/2 after I started getting headaches and a few days later my first migraine  :o The pain was immense and in a desperate attempt to alleviate the I banged my head against the wall (this does not work so don't try it no matter how tempting it may seem).

Going back on hrt the migraines disappeared. But then after srs they came back even while on hrt, and they were more powerful than ever. I started throwing up when I'd get a migraine. Then they started lasting upwards of 3 days in which I'd stay in bed puking non-stop. It got so bad in the end I ended up in the ER twice in one evening when one came on (that was after 3 days of puking and no sleep) :-\

It's gotten better the last year but I think that is mainly due to my weight loss. I've lost almost 50lbs the past 15 months and the migraines are almost gone. I still had one yesterday, and it sucked big time, but it was nowhere near the intensity of those I had up until last year.

Migraines are evil!
"Of course!"

I developed migraine in the summer of 2011.  It started with horrible vertigo attacks, coupled with other neurological symptoms, so it was confusing at first.  I had to undergo a series of tests in the ensuing months, but I was finally diagnosed with vestibular migraine in December 2011.

Receiving a diagnosis was the most helpful thing, because then I was able to educate myself about triggers, treatment, etc.  One thing I read is that changes in hormone levels can be a migraine trigger.  I can't say for sure how that applies to your experience, because a change in hormone levels may have actually stopped the migraines for you.

The main reason I'm replying to your post is to recommend to you and to anyone else with migraine that you take magnesium supplements.  New medical research shows that magnesium supplementation alleviates migraines in at least 50% of migraneurs.  After I learned about that, I started taking 250 mg of magnesium, twice a day, and my migraines (which had been recurrent for months) stopped within several weeks!  It was like a miracle.

I hope you remain migraine free.
