After reading other people's threads about their hrt beginnings and early on mine feels out of place.
Seems like most I read started on spiro alone, but I started on both spiro and E ( both at low dose ). I told the doctor my concerns of oral and didn't mind the extra cost of transdermal for the extra piece of mind. I was cleared for oral, but we went the patch route.
When it came to the earliest effects of HRT I kept thinking "sore nipple will be the first effect and there's nothing before that". I'd heard about the softening of skin happening pretty quick, but put no stock into it. Guess I figured softer skin wouldn't be anything I'd even notice....Wrong.....
About 2.5 weeks after I started I could fully tell my skin was getting softer, especially on my fingers. Countless times I'd literally go to wipe my hands as a kneejerk reaction. My fingers were so soft that when they rubbed together it felt awkward. Felt like baby power or something was on them.
Over the last couple of days I can feel that my lips are getting softer. I've caught myself going to wipe my mouth because I think something greasy is on them. Then realize, they're soft enough that I'm not use to the feeling of it.
Other than that I can tell that my skin pores on my face do seem a bit smaller and my face isn't as oily as it normally is.
The soft skin though....wow....it feels wonderful. What a great unexpected surprise
