I never had the real "high school experience" with all the girls and first kisses and experimentation. Now I'm going through the hormonal changes of the average sixteen-year-old, and I look like one to boot, even though I'm almost twenty. Coupled with this is the fact that I was homeschooled, so I never had much of a chance to socialize with people my own age. So, for me, college has been my high school. I had my first kiss, first girlfriend, first dance, first beer, first real male friends. It's been so cool! I may be a bit of an odball (how many eighteen-year-olds had never been kissed by the time they hit college?), but so are a lot of other guys in college. Half of the guys are shorter than me, many have less facial hair, most are less sexually experienced, a lot of them can't hold their liquor (not that that's a good thing), and most have never worked a day in their life (it's kind of a ritzy school, and I'm on major financial aid).
So I'm discovering stuff for the first time, and it's really exciting! Who knew that dancing with a girl could be this awesome? Who knew that your first sexual experience could be this great? Who knew that parties were this fun, after all those awkard moments as a girl? Who knew that being a teenager was this cool, after the first dissapointing time around? All this, and I'm old enough to appreciate it! So much for dorky adolescence--this time, I get to be the cool guy! In my dorm, I had the nickname of "magnum" (don't ask), and was known for being the guy who got all the action. Now it's summer, and I'm going to be getting chest surgery soon. I get to be a kid again, and I'm loving every moment of it! Hooray for adolescence!
