Stacey, in answer to your question, it is my understanding that there is a difference.  The sublingual method (dissolved under the tongue) is better because it avoids some of the "first pass" through the liver.

However, you should talk to your prescribing physician.

thank you for you answer I have only just stared Estradiol and my doctor never told me  this I only started it on Thursday 11/72013 and  not  due back at the gender clinic to end of September  on average how long before in start noticing a change I am 47

I would advise you to not do sublingual right away.
There cam be quite a powerfully surge of estrogen  with that method
If your not used to the e....you might not know if you took to much

Take it orally for a while :-P

Yep, this is exactly what my gyno told me to do..
