Well. after receiving my letter from my therapist many months ago, my appt with an Endo is 5 weeks away! In the meantime, I have secured primary care through a health group that focuses on the LGBT community. They also can take care of my HRT needs, but the extra waiting time leads me to believe I should just keep the one I have scheduled. It has seemed an eternity to secure my letter and 2 eternities to get an appointment in my city. soooo frustrating, but admittedly I didnt ease the frustration by my decision to go fulltime pre hrt
While reviewing the new patient checklist they sent me, it appears that some things either don't apply to me or I simply don't understand. Perhaps some of you already on HRT can shed some light or advice. In any event, I'm very excited and quite nervous (I havnt had many opportunities for medical care throughout my life and am apprehensive as a result.)
has anyone been asked for an eye exam relating to an appt for HRT? theres a question on the checklist for it. a few other questions I dont understand either. referral for physician. I assume my therapist's letter qualifies, but im not sure. it says I cant be seen without a referral. perhaps this is simply for insurance reasons. i dunno. lastly, I was asked on the form if I had a Signed Advance Directive. no clue as to what this is.
I reworded this post as it had no replies and seemed like a statement more than a question.
