This bill was passed by the federal government as follows

The sex discrimination amendment bill 2013 was passed last week in Canberra. As you know, individuals have been able to choose their gender on their passports for a while now but this bill extends that option to all Australian government records.
This will be of particular benefit to patients wanting to change their gender with Medicare to access cheaper hormones though I understand it does  also increase the costs of some surgeries. As per passports, all that is needed is a letter from a doctor or psychologist, seemingly there are pro-forma letters available. Ask your Dr to contact ANZPATH for copies.

Of interest I am now female married to a female in a country that bans same sex marriage. How is that for legal sense!!!!

I suggest people in countries that still have repressive law post such links to their political servants.
