Are there any minis gamers around? What games do you play? What factions? I'm super curious!

Yep.  I collect and paint retro minis too.  Got a bajillion of the things.
I play skulldred, sobah and occasionally warmachine and malifaux when my nephew visits.

Lol...  my factions tend to be, surprisingly, the more female ones.  Denial huh?

Cryx (denegrha and satyrix)
Sisters of battle
Esher clan
Amazons
Dark eldar (wyches!)
Reaper minis battle nuns

You?

It's been ages since I've played minis. It's as much of a money sink as any CCG, and requires more time than I have. That being said, I mourn the passing of my old Skaven army.

I suspect a lot of trans peeps are drawn to stuff like this as a nice dysphoria escape... which it certainly was for me, and we are already all used to role playing ;)

;D

I find the current GW stuff just too ultra testosterone fuelled and overly grim (and ridiculouly $$$) it was fun in the eighties.

Oh, and horribly sexist.  Women cannot be space marines, and sisters of battle are piss weak?  Hmmm.

That said I grab a lot of stuff off ebay and focus on skirmish sized games, so its less of a money sink.

I havent tried flames of war... how do you rate it?

The only minis game I'm really interested in getting into is the Saganami Island Tactical Simulator.... okay and maybe Flames of War...

But minis end up being such a money and time pit!

Whilst on the subject I did a couple of mini conversions from male to female whilst still in denial.  Lol.  It just leaks out of your subconscious dont it?

Hahaha..Cryx.

I play mostly Warmachine/Hordes, and Malifaux, with a touch of Warhammer tossed in for good measure. :p  Most of my armies/crews are female led, because I'm sure dysphoria plays a small part in things.

Warmachine: Cryx (Pirate Queen Skarre baby!) Retribution (Kaelyssa!)
Hordes: Circle (Morvahna) Skorne (Makeda)
Malifaux: Molly, Rasputina, and the Viktorias
Warhammer 40k: Chaos Space Marines (All painted pink in honor of Slaanesh!)
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos led by Valkia the Bloody.

I've been slowly working on a Chaos Space Marines Conversion project. Filling out those power armors with female heads, I've got a Cultist-Chan champion in there, and am really just tired of only having the Sisters of Battle to turn to.

Lol.  I once spent a night converting a classic slaanesh champion from hermaphrodite to full female because the manly half bothered me for some reason.  Lol.  Denial.

I realised that, to date, I have done a dozen or so sex changes via putty.  I have female marines, female chaos lords (ladies) and so forth.  It struck me hours after I realised I was trans that I did this and y hst most of my collection was female.  Lol.
