We complain an awful lot about this chore. All the time spent. The mess of lubricant. The discomfort and inconvenience. Dilating is just no fun at all.

But in defense of dilating...in praise of it:

It is a reminder of what I have now that I did not have before

and

I'll take the discomfort of dilating over the torment of GD...

wait, I took it!

And I'm not giving it back!

(Love you all!!!)

I have to agree with you. At first it sucks but after a while it feels kinda good and you don't have to do it much if your um.... Active ;)

I honestly wish I could feel that way. For me, it's a reminder that I made a mistake - having full SRS rather than partial.

I know it can suck but just remember in time you can learn to adapt and have fun/ enjoy yourself

I'm a little over 1 year post op and I don't have to do it that often anymore. In the beginning (first few months) it was kinda a chore but right now I do it as part of my life routine just like brushing my teeth or cardio exercise. It no longer bothers me at all.

While I appreciate the encouragement, I know I cannot learn to enjoy my mistake and source of regret.

I would have to agree with you. I am close to 4 months out now and just dropped to 2x a day. But yes everyday discomfort of dialating is not even close to pre op torment of my GD. I have never had a mind so clear in my life. So happy all is well.

That's very true, I never dilate since my husband has regular intercourse with me, I'm now a married woman, my husband is now my dilator.
