Surfing with the Safari for Windows beta from work right now. :)

Runs pretty well although I had to set the Font Smoothing to Strong to make webpages look good.

Anyone else toying with this browser on Windows?

Hey, cool.  I didn't know about that.  That will work great for me.  I develop web apps that run on IE and FF and now I can test for the Mac users that run Safari.  I just downloaded it now.

I do believe I am sticking with FF. But anything other than IE is a step up. :)

I do use Firefox and have for awhile. Also have used Konquerer, Opera, and half dozen others in the past. I used the Safari browser to surf around a bit. It was different and it performed well but you can tell it is still a beta release. I am looking forward to the official release but right now I doubt that it will replace FF on my computers.

I'm using it now.  It's MUCH faster than IE and FF on this computer and haven't had problems yet.  However, I'm not using the latest IE or FF either for software testing reasons, so perhaps it's and unfair comparison.

I have the most current of IE and FF and Safari is faster. However, I will keep FF because I love the plugins that I have setup. :)

That is the same boat I am in as well. I love the way I have FF customized with various plug-ins. if I was to switch to something else it would have to be pretty powerful right out of the box or do some extraordinary for me to change.

I own a Mac, so I can judge Safari for Windows. But if it's even close, I think you'll like it more and more. It's only problems is many Websites can't test for Safari and sometimes it has problems displaying or working, eBlogger for example - they have to keep adding bits to accommodate Safari.

This is because Safari is the least robust browser and most compliant for W3C standards so any Web pages you design should comply or else it may not work with Safari. IE is the most robust browser and has even allows MS-only html or non-standard html code to work, which is why many Web pages designed with MS Web design software or for IE aren't W3C compliant.

The other side of the coin is that designing for/with Safari, as I do, you often have to change the code to accommodates IE's quirks and non-compliance to W3C. But then I don't, and let the viewer know I don't care about MS and especially IE.

I used the browser this AM to post the news. The lack of being able to use my scroll mouse was a surprise and an annoyance.
