PC Michelle Sowerby put the group forward for the Duke of York Community Initiative Award, which it won, and Michelle also received the Duke of York Community Leadership Award for her work.

The Pride Festival celebrates the wide cultural and ethnic diversity of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in the District, challenges homophobia and aims to break down barriers and build bridges.
