I'm having kind of a problem hopefully someone can help me out with, the information I am actually looking for I cannot seem to find it online for my state.

So big question. Do I have to go through my therapy before I can change my name. My legal name is Crystal but I go by Kris, EVERYBODY schools, employers, friends, family all know me as kris!!! So I want it changed to Kristofer. Do I have to do my therapy first? I'm in Az. Once I get my name changed to Kristofer, do I go through changing my SNN, drivers license, birth certificate, all of my credit cards simply by presenting my court approved name change, and  if that IS the case, should I wait until I change my marker from Female to male? if I dont wait, do I have to get all new snn, drivers license, birth certificate. When i change my marker as well?

Also I know I have to start my therapy first but what changes do I have to do before I can change my mark from F to M? I have plans on getting my chest surgery done sometime at the start of next year after I finish my therapy. When i change my marker can I legally get married to a female? I know all states are different and thats the problem Im running into, I find information about this subject in almost every states besides AZ.

I know this is a lot of information to take in and I'm so sorry but any help would be much appreciate!!! Thank you so much.

No. Cis people get their names changed all the time.

Not sure about gender marker, though.

You'll want to change it at the SSA as soon as you get it (both, when you do) done. Then your license and see what they can do about your birth certificate. In Arizona, they may issue a new birth certificate, or they may just amend your current one. Not sure. But the SSA con be the deciding factor for things like marriage, so you'll definitely want to change that.
I don't know what SNN is, do you mean SSN? Because that will stay the same, I think; they'll just change the name attached to it. As for marriage, if the sex change process is long and strict, it's entirely possible that marriage equality will be enacted before you finish, and you can get married with no worries.

You can legally change your name anytime. No therapy, HRT, nothing needed. You just file out the paperwork, file with the circuit court, go to the hearing, and done.

To change your gender marker you need some sort of letter from a therapist, doctor, etc. See links below:

Also with the SSA, you won't get a new SS#... they will just change your name and/or gender. And you get a new card, with the same old # on it.
