Stopping E after orchi

This is about a friend of mine who's been FT and everything for about 3 years, and mentioned after her orchi, she stopped ALL meds. Has not had SRS FYI, though doesn't really matter in terms of meds...

I was under the impression the we still need to take E for the rest of our lives. Am I missing something? Is she slowly turning back into a guy (by means of lack of E in her body only)?

She won't "turn into a guy"... but she is the equivalent of a woman in menopause, with her only hormones (E and T both) being provided by her adrenal glands.

The main risk of that is the same as for any other menopausal woman - osteoporosis, mostly. Most doctors do NOT recommend quitting all sex hormones cold turkey (even for menopausal cis women it's supposed to be a gradual thing as the body decreases its production, and with great care taken to address the bone health concerns).

The adrenal glands produce a small amount of each, but it should also be noted that androgens are more potent and will make the body more masculine, even just the amount from the adreanal gland. Cis ladies call the male fat redistribution they get the "meno-pot". So even if one discounts the health concerns, it is probably best to increase estrogens through some means.
