Cindy

My previous post was an attempt to motivate those who can afford to subscribe but have not as yet to think about it.

It has caused unintended argument and anger.

I realise that many are on low, fixed or even none existent incomes and I am supportive of members who are struggling.

As I said, if you cannot afford to donate I don't want you to. I don't want you to be under more pressure than you already are.

This is a support site. We support each other.

Some of you on low/no income want access to the 'Supporters Only' area and cannot afford it.

So I have made 100 scholarships available.  I have paid for 100 people to donate $10 for access to the "Supporters Only' area, you an apply to me (or to Susan) by personal message or email (susan@susans.org or cindyjames@susans.org) for access for 2 months with a 3rd month free, during which time you can budget the $10 a month for future access.

That way we have some income to keep going and you enjoy full access.

Of course most of the site remains free

And please no more arguing.

Brava, Cindy!  Thank you!

I think a scholarship fund, or gift subscriptions from our more affluent members to our less affluent, is a wonderful way to contribute to our community in a very meaningful way.

I tip my hat to you Cindy.

At the moment i'll not put my name down for scholarship as there are other people who need help more, I don't mind not having access to the "just for us" section as I regardless of how private a website is I never post anything that I don't mind the whole world seeing.

Whilst at Bristol Pride this year me & FTM Diaries noticed that amongst the hundreds of items for sale there was nothing aimed at the trans community so we are thinking of getting some merchandise (T-shirts, badges etc.) sorted for next year, if this does go ahead then i'd be happy to donate any profits to Susan's place.
