I had my fourth (and fifth) GIC appointments this week - more than a year after I first consulted my GP about transitioning. So after a year of being fully socially transitioned but without any medical assistance, the GIC doctor has now told me he was very satisfied with my case and has agreed to the following:
- I have been declared perfectly sane with no psychological or psychiatric disorders (that's right: my clinic follows DSM-V)
- He is writing to my GP to ask her to prescribe T, which I'll probably start within the next few weeks!
- He is referring me straight away for top surgery and I should expect to see the surgeon before the end of this year.
Woohoo! It's amazing what a difference the right GIC makes. I must confess I did a little 'happy dance' in the GIC's reception area after he handed me my consent form.
Thanks for your support so far, everyone. It looks like I'm finally getting somewhere!
