A mayor in Pennsylvania has been issuing same-sex marriage licenses despite the fact that same-sex marriages aren't allowed in the state. Gay couple Bill Gray and John Kandray travelled across the state to get their license. The Governor has filed a petition in court to get the mayor to stop issueing the marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Lawsuits have been filed to stop the rogue mayor and Register of Wills from handing out same-sex marriage licenses. The Registrar says they're not following the state constitution, but are following the US Constitution which promises equal rights for all people.

Double-edged sword.  The Mayor of San Francisco did the same thing in 2004 and all of the marriages were legally voided.

Yeah I think the couples are aware they're taking a risk but its still a nice protest.
