Jasmine Goode last night boasted: "I'm living the dream."

She got the pricey NHS treatment while serving an 11-year sentence for burglary.

The lag began taking hormone tablets behind bars and changed her name from Darren.

Jasmine, 37, said: "The NHS was generous. I've been able to get the body I've always wanted.

"It's not wrong that I was given help. The NHS wastes money helping sick people who are going to die soon whereas I've got a lot of years left."

Darren, from north Wales, was born "intersex", meaning he had male genitals and visible but unformed female ones.
