^Thank you. Excellent honest critique.

And yeah, that's pretty much my voice problem in a nutshell. The tone/resonance part I found relatively easy, (to the point that I'm getting gendered female on the phone more often than not now, even when I'm not trying.) But I still can't raise my pitch to save my life. It's stuck in that middle zone between the male range and the female range, and there's always these random words in my sentences that drop WAY lower than I wanted them to.

I think you're voice sounds great, Carrie :)

Especially in the beginning of the video, it is wonderful! Definitely no voice surgery necessary for you, sister! You've always had a really solid female voice in my opinion, even in your very first video from months ago. It sounds like your natural voice, too. Really good stuff!

The only thing that I feel is barely worth mentioning (if you were looking for a fairly critical critique) is your posture while moving around. At times it looks like your shoulders are leading your motions, and that could be considered a male-ish movement pattern by some. Personally, I do not see it as something that you "need to fix" but rather just something that you could work on to increase your feminine poise. Maybe just think about it a little bit and it will probably make a big difference naturally over time!

Hi,

I'm new to this site and have recently come to terms with the person that I am. I was wondering if some of you incredible people would be able to point out any masculine features that I have and what I could do to draw attention away from them. I am pre-everything. Please excuse the stubble and blemishes on the side image!

I'd say you have lots of potential.  You have a great nose, expressive eyes, you don't seem to have much of a brow ridge at all, and I saw no adams apple.  Great starting point.  You are going to be cute.

I agree with Jenny. Carrie you should try to pull your shoulders back and work on your posture and movements, everything else is fine.
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

+1 Concerning the shoulder angle, it leans toward the male aggressive posture that we learn from hanging out with the fellas or from participation in aggressive sports early on. It can be unlearned, if it were me I'd start with a few relaxing sessions with a licensed massage therapist telling them what you want to achieve, the muscles need to be relaxed and then once that is done then practice standing with shoulders back, arms at your sides and elbows to the rear of the line of your body. Breathe freely and relax while doing it, then it will become more of a natural stance in time and with practice. Other than that you are good to go girl!

Totally agree! The public is going to hear you as completely female. Unless someone is zoning in on catching trans women then you'll be fine ;)

And I'd also agree with the shoulder posture, but lots of women don't have the best posture either. But if you're looking for anything specific that's the only thing I'd say I saw.

Strong chin, I know...

So I just found this gem! Ha when I had long hair!! Why oh why did I ever cut my beautiful long hair!?!?! Oh well it's growing right? In 6 months should be down to my shoulders! This is also back when I went au naturale for awhile. So no tweezed eyebrows or makeup minus foundation & powder if that.

Again aware of the chin, but does long hair help? And any other thoughts..

And of course there is more than face, so here is a shot of me at work :)

And while I'm at it, this is very very recent  ^-^

Killer lips Harlow and great eyes too.  I am so drawn to long hair that it is way easy to say yes, grow it long and to luxury length and love it.  I am growing mine back too and regret cutting it (at hip length) a few years back in one of those last ditch efforts to go manly.  Oh we are going girly now!

Right?!?! Lol XD!

Look at my brows, been tweezing since 9th grade I don't know what I was thinking! Probably compromising with the hair and all, can't have femme brows with long hair... D'Oh DX!

Except I don't think I could ever be manly in a hundred years of trying

PrincessEmma, you look like a girl wearing guy clothes.  If your Mom thought that she was disguising you by having you wear boy clothes, then she was WRONG!

Harlow, I wonder how much of that chin is actually muscles. You have very feminine jaw and chin does not distort the feminine effect, IMO. I have seen female celebrities with the exact same chin btw :). And Your chin is not masculine either - it is a bit backwards sloping - if I am not mistaken - instead of being thrust forwards, all square and angry :).

Princessemma - if Your mom thought that she had dressed Your masculinely, then that shirt does not ring very masculine with me, btw :)

I have to agree with this comment and that shirt reminds me those American Italian gangster movies.

Pretty good Sara. Keep it up.
I think you have a nice pixie look right now. What is your long term goal? Boyish, full femme, ?

Yea, I think you look adorable Sara! I wonder what you would look like with longer slightly wavy hair.  I think it would look cute!

Hi Sara,

You may wish to avail yourself of the introductions and other places to start a post?  6.5 what?  Post HRT start?  You are doing great but the pic reveals to me a wistful look and there are a ton of variables that this one dimensional venue can not show.  Throw back those shoulders and......?
Femininity is, like beauty, in the eyes of the beholder.  It is your own assessment that counts in the end.
