Hey guys,

I've been lurking around for a few months checking for information, helpful advise (a lot of it here by the way, it has been great), and after checking with a therapist and thinking about it for a few months, I think am going through for HRT next month. I am pre-everything, and I intend to get FFS, HRT and laser of course. Would you honestly that I could pass after going through the whole set of process after a year or two? Now am about 1m80 and weight 68kg (5'11, 145ish pounds), and for the sake of context, I have a very fast metabolism, while I lost some 12kg of fat in about 2 months, I intend to get some 5kg of healthy fatty back with a healthy, rich diet and by exercicing soon after starting HTR. I have done that kind of thing in the past and it should not be a problem, I just hope that when I go up again, it will go to the right places. Am very insecure about my back which is kind of broad, I used to be a swimmer and a model with the tight waist and also it does not really help when you try to not look like a man. Here are 2 totally casual photos.

Thanks for your time, I have seen this community is so full of helpful people.

ganjina-

First of all, you've got great hair.. and very feminine eyes. In my opinion, I don't think passing will be an issue for you. You're already off to a GREAT start with the hair. Many say that long hair is incredibly feminizing, and I agree.

Dunno what it is, but I think you're going to be kind of a stunner if you put the effort in.

Like a lot of us, it looks like you will probably have to correct the adam's apple protrusion and you will need the obvious laser hair removal sessions to get rid of beard shadow. I think you will likely have a great result from that stuff and HRT alone, though.. Those eyes! Very excited to see your progression :)

Being trim before starting HRT is great. I would give it at least 6 months before you really try to start putting any weight back on... It takes a little while for estrogen to "soak in" enough to start affecting body fat redistribution. I am on the HRT fast track and I think I really started noticing changes there when I was 7-8 months in. Keep us posted!

@Robinmac, you look lovely. I really love the bald photo. The only thing I would mention is, go easy on your eyeliner. Lining the lower lid can have the effect of shrinking your eyes, also fully lined eyes like that are really more of a young girl/teen look. You don't want to look like a grown up emo do you? :p

These are all instagrams I'm using on an online dating profile. I don't mention my trans status in my profile though. Do I pass as cis in these pictures? Yes they have filtery things but it seems that's what everyone does on the site..

I'd say you pass 90%.  To an unsuspecting person, you would probably pass.  I think its party the eyebrows being really thin and partly the chin/jaw that make me second guess. I couldn't be sure because ciswomen have these features relatively often as well.  The second picture passes the best in my eyes.

Personally, I would say a 100% pass.. that you might not have been born female would never have entered my mind - I see nothing overly masculine about your features. At all.

How am I doing? 6.5 months.

Sara, your skin looks good, your hair is cute, you look femme to me (I have three daughters).  If I were you, I would add a smile to my repertoire.   ;)

You definitely look female to me. You actually look kind of French. Are you French? On a related note, the word "French" no longer looks like a word to me...

THanks for the feedback everyone :) Nope, not French. Norwegian ancestry though.. does that count?

Give me your nose! Photocopy it and mail it to me or something! lol

I think your face is a great starting point!  You are really good looking as a man and I think it will translate over into womanhood perfectly overtime.

Not sure how to reply in-thread yet, so I'll just do one big post...
Thank you, Anyonymous, Septet, Jamie D, and Isabelle for the constructive comments and the reassurance.  I've got such a long way to go; I'm only beginning to get info on local electrolysis places, and just had to postpone my first gender therapy appt yesterday (grump).  It's nice to know my face at least doesn't need a ton of surgery. :)

New, combined topic.

Here's the deal.  We have too many people cross-posting the same images in multiple topics.  That's prohibited.  Images take up space and cost money.  The Moderators were directed to "lock or combine" the image topics.

Limit your image posting to no more than two at a time.  If we can do that, these topics might stay in the free section of the site.

So I took you girls advice before i start HRT next month. I got a more natural hair color,  got a new hair cut and ditched the blue hair.
Still scared to try on make up tho but i'm working on it. Do i look manly in anyway?

I honestly don't think you do at all. If I saw you, I wouldn't have to look twice to know that you were a girl. If I looked twice it'd be probably be to check you out

Looks great really. Reall good for Pre HRT for sure. Maybe you could also benefit a tad from the eyebrow plucking mentioned some posts earlier if you did not do that yet. Its neat as it is basically like makeup in its effect but you dont have colored stuff in the face ;)

Hey Gabriella, good things are happening for you!. Big difference in your face shaping, you are smiling & looking Happy! Is that your hair growing out? Try thin out & arch your eye brows with a taper to a fine point where the hair ends on the outside of your eye. Progress. It Takes patience.

Wow....its amazing what you can do with eyebrows and hair....you're like a whole new person.  Can definitely see more female in the new picture in fact it almost looks like a side by side picture of brother and sister.

Not only would you pass, after going through everything, but you would probably be pretty hot!  I can see that you have nice facial definition and bone structure, and your hair is going to be the envy of women everywhere!!  As for your body shape/back/etc, there are women of all shapes and sizes everywhere, and you can offset that by the clothing you wear.  I look forward to seeing your before/after picture down the road! (:
