Read a post about a girl on HRT and when she actually started getting real breast tissue, she had a freak out moment and stopped transition only to start again later when she came to her senses. There have got to a lot of hormone related wow moments too. So, lets here about the (1) WOW moments and (2) FREAKOUTS after beginning hrt....

Yes I freaked out when I first went through HRT when I was 22. It was the boob thing, I guess I thought it would take a lot longer then a few months to start growing. Just got back on HRT yesterday which is about 13 years later, and please don't do the math lol  :D

I'm curious to see what others post!!

Well, I don't have any freakout moments since I'm not very far in, but I have a wow moment that I've honestly been thinking of creating a thread on to get some opinions.

Ever since I was little, I've had a very dominant M shaped hair line with a weird double widow's peak due to a birthmark.  It's not that I had hair there and lost it in my teenage years -- it just never existed.  I've been on Proscar (cut into fourths) for two months and spiro/estradiol for about a month --suddenly, baby hairs working down from my hairline, almost spread across the entirety of both ridges (minus my birthmark, of course).  I was thinking I'd need a minimum $10,000 dollars invested into my forehead alone, but now...I'm not so sure.  It's absolutely amazing and it made me ecstatic for my future. :)

I'm not afraid of maths. Let's see, you were 22 then, it's been thirteen years <unintelligible mumbling>...carry the naught, um, er,......you're 29! Hugs, Devlyn

I'll admit, I did have a couple of freakouts when I looked back at my old pictures and realized that I'm not even the same person anymore. And I realized that I'm probably never going to get that same old self back. It's not like I was sad or regretful or anything, but it really was a "HOLY CRAP!" moment where I was suddenly overwhelmed by the realization of the sheer magnitude of what the pills I was taking every day meant.

You just made my day! :D

I have the same hairline. It's not receded at all. It's just been a really deep widow's peak all my life. I've been planning to start hair transplants to close the gap there, but if that's true... (!) If I see the same results I'm going to be soooooo happy!

I'll be smart and not get my hopes up, but it's a huge relief to know it's even possible. Thanks for sharing that! :)

The first big "WOW!" moment post-HRT was definitely the discovery of soft, velvety skin from head to toe...and the increased erogenousness of it. I mean, I've always been easily aroused by most any touch, but with femme skin...omg OMG!

Ok, let's try to remember a freak out moment...when I came out for the first time to a non-management co-worker...I had about 3 seconds of PANIC!, then I was like, "Hey, do you want this or not? REALLY want it? Then let her know!" (c-w was a cis-F, whom I respected greatly)

"Hey, just wanted to let you be the first to know...I'll be changing my name to Beth as of tomorrow." She was ok with it (and not particularly surprised LOL) Other than that...not much freaking out.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

(1) WOW moments and (2) FREAKOUTS after beginning hrt....

(1) The day after I started estrogen, I engaged in a self-pleasuring session. Instead of the usual "squirt" afterward, I felt a full-bodied rush of pleasure. My first female orgasm.

(2) After a couple of months of spiro, what had been twin peach pits are now more like peanuts.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

My first Wow moment was when I noticed one morning and half asleep that I no longer had acne. I had it when I was 13 and it never went away. Given that my voice didnt really break, the lack of an adams apple and short height, it was like I was a perpetual teenage. That puberty was just being painfully dragged on and on for years.

The next one was again when I was half asleep in the morning and realized that there was a girl staring back at me in the mirror through half-opened eyes. I about did a double take.

And when I realized I had hair growing back in on my head. It was very noticable because my hair as a child used to be a light golden brown. And now its black/brown. The hairs growing in are the same color as my hair from childhood.

^ Totally hoping my hair gets fuller! I haven't had a receding hairline or anything but my two brothers started thinning badly in their mid twenties. I have been lucky thus far, Idk if 9 month stint on HRT way back when I was 22 helped, but glad that hopefully I'm saved from that nightmare.

I have baby fine hair like corn silk. My sisters have fine hair too, but definitely fuller so I am hoping that I'll see some good results there. Also not that I have a receding hairline, but maybe it will be a bit fuller too *crossing fingers*  :eusa_pray:

Freak out
At about 1 month in I had ED. It took a week for me to figure out (I am a little slow) I needed stimulation now. I was no longer a Neanderthal that got erect just because.

Wow

In May I was on the subway and I caught my reflection in the mirror and up to then I didn't think I looked different but during this moment I looked almost pretty! It wasn't so much and "oh $h!t" moment as an OMG this is awesome moment.

And the other day i was checking out these cute red ballet flats I bought and my shape was positively female. At that moment I was like "holy ****" no wonder I'm having so much trouble passing as a guy!

Wow. Within two weeks I had hard nipples and was becoming emotional. Freak out. My breasts were tenting and coming and I needed to figure out what to do. Hugs. Shannon
