Fox News hosts shocked by transgender rights: 'I can't get my head around this'

Conservative pundit Michelle Malkin and the hosts of Fox & Friends on Tuesday expressed outrage and confusion after California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) signed a transgender rights law, allowing students to choose which gender identity they prefer.

"I don't know where to start on this, Michelle, because there seems to be so many questions around this," host Clayton Morris observed. "Is this children who consider themselves a different gender and have not gone through some sort of surgery? Is it a child who is conflicted about their sexuality and chooses one day to use the boys' bathroom as opposed to a girls'?"

I had a good idea about myself starting around 7th grade, probably farther back than that though I didn't really know exactly what I was feeling.

This is no shock.  After all they can't get their heads around common sense.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

You know, whenever I come across something I don't understand, I try to learn about it.  That way I can give an informed opinion when it becomes relevant.  And if I am asked something I don't know about, I realize my limitations and don't pretend to have knowledge or understand something that goes beyond my current understanding.  What I never do is go in public and start talking about things I have no idea about and then claim that my ignorance only shows how right I am.  I suppose that's what makes me different then Ms. Malkin.  But she isn't a stupid person, she knows where her bread is buttered.

I can't even count how many times that woman has ticked me off. Just add this one to the list.

Gods, these people...
Fox is a pain anyway. Not too long ago they bashed pagans, as well. *Shakes head* At least I'm not surprised? It's just sad that ignorance, rather than information, like that is being spread by a news channel.

Edit: This was a downer, so I'm just going to wait for video responses on Youtube by trans* people (and allies) who happened across it. That's usually something to watch.

Oh, and also-- Bonus for f*ing up sexuality and gender. I can kind of see how they're thinking about that, but -- really? There are just so many problems with that statement.

Well, honestly, so much of what passes for "news" on that channel is nothing more than bloated op-eds posing as news (and very poor ones at that.)

I must confess, I don't get into television much, much less that particular channel.
It still bothers me, though - hopefully other news channels are better informed than that? How is it still running?

Fox and the people that believe their style of "news" can't be bothered with facts it seems.

I was between 8 and 10 when I had an idea that something was up and clearly felt like I was supposed to be like my sister.

Oh, it's Fox News being Fox News. Really, their inability to "wrap their head" around anything outside their "Christian, nuclear family norm" sends them into a sputtering tizzy and it will never surprise me.

Most trans* people actually can recall the first time they realized they were different from a young age or if they didn't, realized it with time. It always happens eventually for trans* people, they just might repress it or act on it.
Yours truly,

Tobias.

Well, that bunch doesn't have a collective IQ of 300 so who cares what they think?

I think your arithmetic is off - you added some extra naughts  ;D - I could hardly make it through that thing they made me mad - they always do - I never watch - I only see FOX when someone posts stuff - I do not have the patience for ignorance & bigotry.
