But, the fat around the tummy you had before hormones, doesn't leave unless you exercise, even if you've got no T. My waist initially was 32 inch and its now 28 inch, my hips and buttocks haven't gained anything, fat replaced lost muscles, still got 39 inch hips, 40 inch buttocks as before.

Yet, my waist to hip ratio's now 0.71 now VS 0.82 before. As you see, simply getting my waist trim really made me look more feminine (When I was 18 and very fit, I also had a 28 inch waist). I can still get one more inch less if I lose a bit more fat there.

If exercise fails for the waist, there's always lipo.

Many TS simply don't exercise enough, just like many GG's.
I'm not saying its your case. But, I've seen plenty of that.

Also, I would HIGHLY recommend that you switch away from ethinilestradiol (especially since for you its a long term use), talk to your doctor. It has a very high risk profile for DVT and because of that, the safe dose is actually lower than for other versions of estrogen like bio identical estradiol. The bio-availability of pills is also lower than injectables.

Maybe by switching to an injectable like EV you'd get a better effect (its also very safe). But, if your genetics don't allow a lot of fat (some GG don't have much also), no matter how much you take estrogen, you won't have more.

That and diet are key.

And they pay off very well.

I have tried all these things with diet and excrcise. Because we are technically genetic males the fat will acumilate around the bellly area while on hormones to mimick male type fat distribution. It could be the receptors in my body do not work with estrogen and still effect a male type fat distribution. I have no additional fat to my hips or buttocks, only my middle area. I do countless excercise including jogging, tummy excercises, I play tennis and go for long walks but the fat still accumilates in the same place. I also have very little bust which could qualify as 'man boobs' and do not have the appearance of a female type breast shape.

I do seems to be improving with the fat on my legs which are a lot better than my friend who is TS and she has been on hormones for 13 years. She is so thin and has no female fat distribution and you can see her boney legs.  She has the same problem and only puts weight on around her tummy. We are both in out 40's but started a lot earlier on hormones.

Putting on weight around the tummy is all about E to T ratio.
Eithter T's to high, E' to low, or both.
It has nothing with being male or female.
Menopausal women have the EXACT same problem.

Though, once fat cells have been create ANYWHERE, they's hard to get rid off  (they can become smaller though). That's why people do Liposuction.

If you diet and exercise and the first fat that goes away is on the thighs and buttocks, then surely the hormonal balance is not right. Some people are also more sensitive to T and need a lower T to E level than others to get the proper fat distribution. Progesterone also helps in fat distribution.

As I said, ethinilestradiol is not the right estrogen for long term use.

If your body runs out of excess carbohydrates your metabolism will switch to burning body fat (Ketosis) and fat cells will be eaten up as effectively as lipo!

My pre-op urine test acetone levels showed I was still in mild ketosis despite having long abandoned an Atkins type diet regime that dropped my weight from 173 lb to 133 lb in under 4 months.

A diet high in refined carbs is well known to promote fat storage around the belly (beer & wine drinkers !), countering the effect of any E to T ratio.

Guess where I would like to regain fat is on my legs, calves especially .... my legs looked so good even 10 years ago but I guess as a combination of weight loss and age its the one area of my body that hasn't improved.

P.S. dug out this table recording my body development over first four months of hrt (gave it up as tedious as I could see the progress and didn't need to log it - and I guess hrt cured me of such "nerdy" record keeping tendencies  ::) !).

http://uk.geocities.com/laura_eva_b/Lauras_stats.htm

Guess I forget how quick that first spurt of development was !

YEah, but laura, you need to cut carbs to near zero. At that level,  if you do a bit of activity during the day, the muscle will be burned instead of fat (especially if proteins have been cut too), in between those activity period, the fats will be burned.

I'm not sure though if the fats burned will only be in the non gynoid areas if you cut calories too much.

Any diet that burns off the last fat cells, probably will also burn much muscles.

I prefer losing fats very slowly to conserve muscle mass, but that means fat cells will remain (even if they are smaller).

Hey I dont know what you girls are all going on about! If you havnt got the body for it in the first place through genetics you cant expect too much from HRT. I dont see what age has got to do with it. I wasnt even going to go on HRT. I just want to excentuate my lumpy female bits. I dont need fat redistribution. I like how my skin feels nicer though. I have a female body anyway. I just wanted hair removal. Its a pain taking pills everyday. I feel for you girls who arnt getting what you want out of HRT. I really do. It must be frustrating. Oh and if you want a good butt try walking miles everyday. Its really good for it. But if you dont have a butt get implants. Get implants implants. get srs getffs get a ba. Argh I dont want any of these. Hormones will suffice! I dont need surgery to be beautiful. Im natural

Blow your own trumpet, why don't you.........you certainly love yourself..........so how about a bigger aviatar to show how beautiful you claim to be...

I have looked into buttock implants which I believe a surgeon in Brazil speacialises in........but from what I've heard these arn't very successful. Usually hormones are not that effective after puberty and in your case you are probably an exception. The 'If you haven't got the body for it' attitude you have may be acurate but this section of the forum is to improve on the situation we are already in. Try applying a little more tact next time...

What's up with you? If you don't need any of these things, and are tres perfect, why are you posting here?  Sounds like you're ready to start Natalie Carole's forum. A forum of one!

Sorry hey! I messed up because Im messed up. You know I want all those things too. I am just upset that they seem neccessary to be accepted. Passing is important and if they help us pass we should jump at every chance to get them. HRT is just the beginning of making changes. And I would go to my own forum if I had one. I dont care if no one else was there. I love myself!

I do love myself yes. Whats wrong with that!? Ive been through too much not too. I cant do a real picture yet as my life has been turned upside down and I lost everything through no fault of my own. Except maybe that part me of that is determined to be passionate about being a woman.

Christie, your very very thin. Too thin for sure. No wonder you've got little devellopment. Your BMI=16.8!!! This is anorexia territory! What does your doctor say about that? You can't much fat distribution at that weight that's for sure, all fats are used to keep you up.

For example, I'm about 6 foot tall and 170 pounds (many of it muscles) BMI=23.3, my measures are 40.5-29-40 with a 34 inch frame also. My full body photo is in the thread about body parts started by Mawd and I look pretty thin (I can't imagine how thin/sickly I'd look at 135 pounds (the equivalent for my height of your weight).

Natalie,
you are saying that the aviator pic is not really 'you'. You claim to be 'oh so beautiful' yet you haven't managed to put your own picture in your aviator. It's all starting to sound very dodgy..........why don't you reveal yourself and show us what you really look like and I bet your not so hot as you make out.....

Berleigh, please don't get hung up on Natalie's words, we are all allowed to "dream" and she was I guess using metaphorical language insinuating that she felt beautiful in an "inner sense", as a desire, as an aspiration, not strictly in her present physical reality ....

And pleease check out the word "avatar" ... its a hindu word for the incarnation (bodily manifestation) of a higher being (deva), or the Supreme Being (God) onto planet Earth, soo appropriate for us ? ....

... nothing to do with the "goggle wearing" likes of Amelia Mary Earhart or Amy Johnson, famous women pioneer aviators, both of who died in flying accidents with bodies never found ....

Love to be an aviator though  ;) !!!

I'm no oil painting and I don't like a lot of my pics but I try and be honest from the outset and people can see 'me' rather than a fabrication. For me 'a spade is a spade' and reality always keeps my feet on the ground. Maybe I'm too straight forward?

If this works for you that's great, but I think it's important to remember we're very much part of a community of individuals and we just don't all feel the same about things.

Personally I have no problem showing my photo to those I feel are genuine site visitors and members, but I admit I'm always a littled concerned that there might be the odd person snooping around for more dubious, voyeuristic reasons.

I can understand people's desire to maintain their privacy.  Here in Europe the right to a private life is after all one of our fundamental human rights (this privacy right being one of the reasons that UK birth certificate law was finally changed in 2005...)
