When is it time for FFS?

Disclaimer: I haven't started HRT yet, but I'm in therapy and itching to start!

I've seen a lot of recommendations saying that people ought to wait for about 2 years after being on hormones to attempt any sort of FFS. I'm wondering why this is. I know that the hormones will affect your face, and you never know what you're going to end up with, but what if you have strong features that you know won't be changed? For instance, I have a very heavy brow and a "masculine" nose. I know that HRT isn't going to change either of those things. What is the concern for waiting a few years before deciding to perform FFS? I'm still learning about all of this.

One of the effects of Male-to-Female cross-hormone therapy is the distribution of fat into the female pattern.  That means not only on the hips, butt, and breasts, but also in the face.  It is a slow process though.

Sometimes, girls like to get chin or cheek implants - best to see what Nature does first.

Yeah, that makes sense to me. I don't think I'd ever worry about my cheeks. I have a baby face with chubby cheeks.  >:(  I also have a very round little chin. I just get bummed about my forehead/brow area and my nose.

And I know I'm thinking way, way ahead, but that's just in my nature. Once I get a thought into my head, I've got to chase it down to the very end of the Earth.

What if you have no fat at all on you (like myself)?  I, like the OP, have brow bossing and a big nose and those are the two things I want to fix with my face.  I've been on estrogen (but no anti-androgen) for almost two years and the best I can understand regarding estrogen is that it redistributes fat, but if you have no fat anywhere, it's not going to redistribute anything, right?  It can't just create fat out of nothing.

I have seen some girls on the boards here even get a little fat tissue above the brow ridge, making it less noticeable.  But, yeah, if you have a heavy brow, that would probably need work.

I despise my nose and think of getting a nose job all the time. I'd also like to maybe get a lip lift. I don't know if they can do anything about the lower jaw. I don't if I'll ever be able to afford FFS. To me, SRS is more important. I don't think I can do both.

No, but there's a good chance that if you're eating much more than 4 grains of rice, E will store some of it in newly-created fat cells.

Be careful what you wish for...;)
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
