my baller learners permit. check that M by the way im pre op. i need to change my birth certificate and passport still. i blurred all the sensitive stuff and my photo because it sucks.

The great thing about NY is that you just need a letter from your therapist or doctor saying you present as male or whatever and you can change it. Very simple thing to do. The only pain is changing the birth certificate because you have to have hysto or whatever in order to change it. Congrats though!

Hurrhurrhurrr you have restrictions!

I can't understand why all your licenses in the States have your height on.  Or your eye colour.  That just seems really obsessive to me.

You should see what they say on the back. Mine says corrective lenses under restrictions on the back, there's also endorsements. They used to put weight too.

That's crazy.  Things like weight aren't at all fixed, what are they going to do, weigh you and accuse you of identity theft if your weight's changed?!  I can see some sense in corrective lenses being mentioned, because I know people who really should wear glasses to drive and don't, but even that's not set in stone.  Here in the UK you just have your photo, title, name, address, DOB, issue/expiry date, DVLA number and signature. On the back it just says what class vehicles you're allowed to drive.

Americans are obsessed with thinking you never change. My weight on a license hasn't changed in 25+ years, my real weight has gone from 175 to 265 and back.  Eye color, height, weight, and gender are all considered identifying marks.

Awwww somebodies learning to drive! :D

"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

They still put weight on ours.  I know for a fact there are people who haven't updated the weight on their IDs in 10 or more years and are now 100 or more pounds heavier.  It makes no sense to put weight if you aren't going to enforce accurate weights or whatever.

So you can be more easily arrested!  Just kidding.  So stolen IDs can't be used by anyone else.

Here they don't put weight, height, eye colour, or gender, just my name. Surely it would be pretty easy to tell if somebody's using a stolen licence from the picture.

Wtf! Weight? Eye colour!? Crazy Americans! ::)
The only 'odd' thing on my ID is height (I'm 6 cm too short on my ID cause I was still growing, lol) but the rest -generally- doesn't change.

But congrats on the M! Here in the Netherlands I can only get that on my ID if I have my uterus removed first. And I dunno whether I even want that. It doesn't annoy me, as it's INSIDE of me, and it just seems like a pointless and heavy operation to me. I'd rather GET a dick than LOSE my uterus/vag. The only time I notice it EXISTS is during hell week >_< but T will fix that anyway!

Wait, you live in the Netherlands? Amg, I am not the only Dutchie here! Where do you live?

I'd understand eye colour and the likes. It generally doesn't change in a person. But yeah, weight? Maybe they just assume most people will stay around a certain weight? I don't know. You Americans should ask your politicians or whomever about this. I'm really curious what their reasoning is.

Becaus the uterus/cervix/ovaries can cause issues if you are on T, removing them would be the safe option. Especially considering all the cancers you can get there. I can't wait to have those organs from hell removed.

And yes, congrats on the M! I got my healthinsurance pass last week. They had kindly changed my gender from female to male. It made my day.

I tried changing the weight on my id, they didn't do it.

Seriously? Awesome! There are some other Dutch transguys on here (I think Jesse and Bryan (but his actual name is Kent)), but they don't seem that active lately. We should make a "Dutchies unite" group, lol!
I live in Den Bosch now, and I'm going to study Biology in Wageningen (and probably going to live in the nearby town, Ede, cause I couldn't get a room in Wageningen. 'tis still better than travelling...)
And you?

Weight is a bit crazy, yeah. As if someone's weight can't change! ::) Americans!

Ohh, serious? Good point anyway. The cancers/illnesses don't bother me that much actually, as you can get those EVERYWHERE in your body, lol. And the recovering of an operation cannot ever be fun...
But if it can cause trouble with the T and such, it might still be the smartest thing to do, yes. I just don't like operations, lol!

The problem with cancers of internal organs is detection. The risk increases and many of us skirt detection options.
