Two surgeons in my area, Dr. Gerald Mingen (urologist) and Dr. Donald Laub (plastic surgery) may soon be taking on GRS patients, performing their operations at Vermont's only major hospital, Fletcher Allen, in Burlington.

I know little at this point, only the rumours.

If true, I need to decide soon whether to go to a consultation with them.  The concept of Buy Local certainly has its appeal.   As well as being close to home and not having to travel,

The question is, are these operations so standard that all you need is a competent surgeons and a clean hospital?  Or is there variation in the results, which may be based on experience doing those surgeries, or variations in the procedure?

Please share your wisdom here !

Thanks !
