Hi!! My name is Katelyn, I'm a 36 year old MTF transgendered person, and I'm new to Susans.  I've known that I've been transgendered since I was in kindergarten, but started seeing a gender therapist two years ago, and have started dressing full time recently.  I'm starting voice therapy soon, so I'm excited about that, and I'm also happy to have found this amazing supportive resource here!!!  Hope to chat with you all in the future.  (:

Welcome Katelyn,
You are the age i was when i started my HRT. Glad you have a therapist to help you with all the aspects you are dealing with. Stay true to yourself and who you know you are inside.

May the path you walk in your life be full of happiness.

Hi Katelyn, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7326. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

Hi all!! Thank you all SO much for the warm welcome!!!  No, I haven't started hormone therapy yet.  My gender therapist has not been willing to write a letter for me until I spend at least three months full time.  I haven't been ready to come out at work, so I haven't been able to start it yet.  However, I just started working from home recently, and my therapist considers me full time now, and hopefully soon I can start HRT (:

Hi Katelyn and welcome aboard!
I am sort of surprised to learn that after 2 years of therapy you gender therapist still imposes 3 months full time on you before recommending you for HRT. Under the circomstances, I can understand why you might feel more comfortable working from home!
Other than that, I hope you find all you need here in terms of support and information.
Take care!

Yeah!! I was surprised that she wouldn't allow me to start HRT either.  I asked her about it a year ago, and she said that I needed to demonstrate that I was ready with three months of being full time according to the Harry Benjamin standards (or something).  Oh well.  At least I'll be able to start soon! (:
