Well then this topic is quite simple, I am here to argue that our skin doesnt get softer!!

I started E almost 3 years ago and well hmmm, I never noticed my skin get softer. Is there some tests? Or was I just not noticing it?? Tell me how you all knew your skin was softer because to me it seems like something we all tell ourselves to feel better but in reality never happened.

Before you go creams etc, I do so yea.
Awww no my little kitten gif site is gone :( sad.

You stated Your age in another post - so... perhaps Yours had not yet roughened up significantly before You started the hormones? If You had reasonably soft skin from the beginning, then You wont notice that much difference. Everytime I touch my face now - I feel that the skin has changed significantly and before someone might argue about facial hair and shaving - I did shave my face properly, usually twice per day because all my life I instinctively hated hair on my face - it was never so smooth as now - even shortly after shave.

I don't know your age, so I won't go into how your skin may have been in the Pre-HRT days.  But I had a lot of years working outdoors in the hot California sun, and winter cold.  That along with 61 years of T running trough my system before starting full HRT roughened up the skin a lot, and made it kind of leathery in places.   But skin changes were first noticable a few years ago when I was only using a med for my stomach that also worked as a T-blocker.  And when I started E it really changed things, even with all the overtanning throughout the years.  I hope for bigger improvements this winter.

Advice for you young girls is "USE SUNSCEEN".  Unfortunately I don't take my own advice.  So I'm still working outside in the sun, and that harsh treatment hasn't helped me along.    Yeah, I'm stupid that way, and I'll dumbly go on even after ending up with a skin condition, and a lot of Basil Cell skin cancers.   :(

No, it is not only my face, but it was the most apparent, because I touch it more often than lets say upper arm. And yeah, this could be related to the whole skin getting thinner - which is another fact, because I get bruises much easier now than before and they take much longer to heal... I wont comment about my arms, because these were unnaturalely soft for a man - as observed by knowledgeable people - but my upper arms and especially elbows (where it had roughened up) got much softer and thinner. The same for the soles of my feet :) - less rough means now when walking barefoot I have to watch out where I step on a slippery floor.
My legs are slowly getting there as well.

Well, YMMV of course.

After 3 months on spiro, and 7 months ramping up E, my arms, legs, and trunk area are deliciously soft.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

If you started HRT before 20, your skin prolly did not masculinize, like Emily said. Age plays a big factor.

It's definitely getting a bit softer in my case, and I didn't think I'd really have any room for improvement in that department.  Some of that could be from the acne disappearing from my arms, chest, shoulders and back -- the lack of bumps and oil could be contributing factors.

That being said, my face is the softest it has ever been.  It might sound weird, but I think I can actually feel my fat layer when rubbing it.

Oh this is another great topic!  I do notice softer feeling skin after being on HRT.  It is delicious!  Yes, less oils, bumps and sweaty smells.
Part of this is because the hair that is growing back (I shaved most of it off) is much softer, blonder and finer.
I once had a "bear" boyfriend and honestly while i loved his masculinity his beard would rub me wrong and his back was no fun to massage for me.
Kathyk offers really important advice about using that sunscreen.  Think melanoma and basal cell carcinomas that they carve off, ouch.
I actually had to sign a contact stating I would use SPF 30 before getting lazer tx.

It might just be that your skin never masculinized in the first place, Like how some natal males never had adams apples or facial hair.

I definitely noticed a change in my skin, most interestingly my electrologist noticed it too so I don't think it was just me, My skin was definitely oilier and thicker before, no doubt about it before I couldn't go more than 2 days without washing my hair it would get so greasy and I often suffered spots and zits estrogen cleared it right up.

The thickness I'm certain about not least due to how easily I bruise now compared to before, before if I had bruising that generally meant I'd sprained a muscle or had come close to breaking a bone. Now I'm just covered in bruises for every silly little knock.

I started HRT almost exactly 6 years ago  :o

I started a new regimine with a new doctor 3 years ago. He's a pro and pretty well known (around here at least). He has upped my dosage a few times since. A few months ago after he upped my dosage and changed the combo of E and Spiro, within a week, my skin had absolutely become as soft as silk!  ;D  It was a tremendous change. I don't think ever in my life my skin has felt so smooth. I guess it's just a matter of time and what you take for HRT. I'm in my 30s BTW.

When he was ready he showed it to his friends and they said he had created a great statue. And the sculptor said he hadn't created anything, the statue was always there, he just cleared away the small peices." Rambo III
