Studying science.

I've studied some very basic Biology, Geology, Chem and Physics. I'm in the first year of a Social Anthropology degree, but I'll be dropping out once the semester ends to pursue Equine-related sciences instead. Social Sciences really aren't for me, I found. I don't like dealing with people. 😛

I have a DVM degree, and am currently working in emergency medicine. I have an interest in many other scientific areas but am really just a dabbler in most.

Ouriço - It is good to read that you have found an interest that fits your personality. Are you specifically interested in veterinary medicine or are there other fields of equine study that you are interested in?

Shannon14 - Emergency medicine is quite the niche. Do you live in a larger community where DVMs can specialize? I would think that working in emergency medicine would be rewarding. What areas of science that are of interest to you?

Genetics and biomechanics. I wanted to follow Veterinary medicine for quite a while, but my grades were just a little below the required level, sadly.

I'm living in a semi rural area now, but worked for about 10 years in the Los Angeles area. Most people in the U.S., except those in extremely remote areas, are within a couple of hours drive of a specialist.
If I didn't have to deal with some of the pet owners(some are great, others not so much) it would be unbelievably great. It can be very exciting work for sure.
I read a little about a variety of things, genetics, biology, physics, chemistry and pretty much anything medicine related. Not that that whole list isn't related 😀
