Confused_Katie

So I posted in the FTM forum before this, before I realized there was an Introduction forum; my bad.

My name is Katie and I was born female. I am in my early 20s and for the past few years I have had strong desires to be perceived and treated as male. I don't really know what category I fall into, and thought maybe I could find some answers here. I've never talked with anyone about this before...

This is really hard for me; I suffer from severe depression and social anxiety. It took me a few days (and a few drinks) to even work up the courage to make an account and post.

So here I am. Maybe I can get to know some of you better :)

Thank you? :)

I had a bit of an emotional moment between posts so I am feeling rather drained. It made it a bit easier since I don't feel super stressed right now after my moment of catharsis.

Thank you for being so welcoming! I'm glad you were the first to comment on my posts.

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Hey there, Katie.  :)

We are nice people!  You don't have to summons up courage to talk to us, because most of us have been in your shoes - so to speak.

I can tell you from my experience, that my own depression and social anxiety likely stemmed from not being able to express my authentic self.  And though I was socialized as a male, I found comfort in traditional female social roles.

Give yourself an opportunity to shine!
