Hodge Podge

Hi all,

First post on this site....have known about it for years but just registered.  I need advice on top surgery revision work.  Had surgery about a decade ago.  Looked awesome for many years...but as the years have passed and I've rolled past 30, the scars have become very prominent.  I'd also like some nipple work done.  I used to love my chest but I just think it looks horrible at this point.  I can't go back to my original surgeon for the free revision included in the original cost...because a) he's no longer working, and b) despite the initial good results it was not a good experience.  Ideally I would love to go out to Brownstein and have him fix me up...but I'm in Massachusetts and I just can't manage that extra travel time/cost right now.  Can anyone recommend a surgeon near Massachusetts (neighboring states are fine) that does GOOD revision work on a double incision?  Anyone have first hand experience with Costa's in Concord?
Thanks so much.

Hi Hodge Podge, welcome to Susan's Place!  I'm in Weymouth. Here's a link to our Wiki, there is a list of surgeons at the bottom.  Dr Costas link needs updating, but searching his name at the error page turns up his listing. https://www.susans.org/wiki/Genital_realignment_surgery_(female-to-male)

Hope this helps, hugs, Devlyn

Thanks Devlyn Marie.  PS I love Weymouth.  Have looked over a ton of surgeon lists on the web but really looking for first hand reviews at this point.  If I'm going to go with someone local I'd like to hear from their clients.  I'm torn between waiting and going with Brownstein down the road, or going more local.  I would imagine you can only have so many effective revisions since we only have so much skin to work with, lol, so don't want to waste my time on someone who doesn't do good work.  Totally regretting not going with my gut a decade ago and shipping out to Brownstein when I had the time.  Also regretting not having keyhole...I was a great candidate, but it wasn't as popular back then so I went with the double incision.

Dr.Melissa Johnson is in Springfield MA.  I'm not going to put the link up here as it goes right to pix with chesticles, so go ahead and google. I have no idea how her revisions are. She has a good reputation though. Brownstein isn't practicing anymore though I don't know if he would do revisions. A young guy, Dr. Crane, has taken over his practice. He does top surgeries but he's more known for bottom surgery.

Skylarkeleven from youtube fame went to her, and has videos up on his experiences. You can also look for him on FB, and he'd probably answer questions. I don't think he even bothers on his youtube acct though.

->-bleeped-<-, Brownstein isn't practicing?  when did that happen?  i think i was in communications with him and his office a year ago...but with my memory, maybe it was longer than that lol.

i've google johnson and everyone in the area.  problem is most of the after photos are taken weeks to months after surgery...which is helpful but also not helpful.  i did just check out the videos from Skylarkeleven, which were pretty great, thanks!

I would highly recommend you stay away from Doctor Johnson.  I had a horrible experience at her office.

Instead check out Dr. Bartlett in Brookline, MA.  He takes get pride in his work and will do what he can to help you.
