San Antonio ordinance adds 'gender identity,' 'sexual orientation' to anti-discrimination law

San Antonio's City Council voted 8-3 to approve an ordinance its backers say is designed to protect individuals from being discriminated against based on their sexual orientation and gender identity.

The nondiscrimination ordinance proved to be a measure that polarized America's seventh-largest city.
