Genital hair removal for SRS - how bad is it????

Have you had laser or electrolysis on your genital area? How painful is it compared to the face? It sounds painfull but I'm actually dreading the laying there with someone between your legs for several hours.

I had been trying to not think about this part of the process but E3000 has a special right now for $20 an hour for genital hair removal.

some doctors forbid genital hair removal. depending on the case. i have never had any hair removed from that spot as my srs technique does not require it. im scheduled for dr chett in feb. otherwise, i have had facial hair removal. laser and electrolosis... both are, imo, far worse than getting a tattoo. hurt like hell. their both uniquely different. the electro feels like someone is pricking you with a needle. and the laser feels like heat combined with air and i shock which hurts. lol

I did my GSR/GCS with Dr Brassard in Montreal. So i did not have to get any done down there. Saved so much money and pain.

Just the thought of that still makes me cringe.

HEY JESSICA your really beautiful already 😮 wahaa I am jealous.

I remember discussing this in 2011. In most cases hair removal there is not needed, however if you wish to do it its best to do laser as its least painful. The is catch is you need black hair there to be worth it.

You should look into what method you want for srs then contact the doctor you would like and ask them, the ones that require offer diagrams for the regions you will need to do.

Obviously if this is just for you then well then I heard the pain is indiscribable. So be just because there is a special you are risking a lot of pain and possible damage to tissue thats needed for srs.

 you can use emla cream before any hair removal.
Some Drs recommend treating only the perineum, only with electrolysis.
Treating hair growth post op is not ideal. Laser is not considered permanent !
other Drs. want it all gone. you have to see what your Dr. recommends.

It is however strongly recommended by certain doctors for patients with black hair because its cheaper, less painfuland less chance of major scar tissue. Just saying.

I had genital electrolysis at e3000 in Texas.
When they do it, they inject you with a painkiller. This hurts. A lot. This makes the area numb however so when they actually do the electrolysis it does not hurt at all. Worth it iMO

It hurts. Period. I have a very high pain tolerance and it would make me flinch every once in awhile. Genital electrolysis is no fun. No painkiller for me. I just did it. It was a means to an end. More SRS surgeons recommend it preop that those who do not. I have zero hair down & in there now postop... so if your surgeon recommends it, go for it.

I went to brassard but I still had genital electro. I wanted a specific outcome, and it didn't matter if it hurt or not. I used plain old over the counter emla cream and applied it thickly. By the time I made it to the appointment i was pretty numb. The hairs around the anal area were the most painful for me, and the thick bikini line hairs are rooted pretty deep and took a hell of a charge to kill them. It was just a weird feeling to be laying on a table with my feet in stirrups while the electrologist literally had to keep moving my "thing" around to get treated. Of course once I was post-op having my feet up in the air for dilation was a not a new feeling, but more gratifying.

People's pain tolerances seem to vary a lot for this, according to my electrologist. I was about average, and could last a 30 minute to 45 minute session. Some people could manage over an hour with no EMLA cream, whereas some could barely manage one probing. EMLA cream is patchy in my experience - it can numb some areas, but others are still painful, perhaps comparable to having a quick injection. Surprisingly on the scrotum it hurt the least and hurt the most in the perineum area. It wasn't easy but the thought of surgery that got me through having two years of it (it took a LONG time for me). If you have surgery at Charing Cross and are circumcised or not well endowed, it's very likely you'll need it. (If circumcised, almost certain, for CX). Now post op, I can say it is worth it and more 🙂

  A lot of places in my area simply refuse to do it at all because they say it's "too painful".  I'm wondering though for those of you who have had this done what it was like in the surrounding "bikini areas" including the 'butt crack'.  I would at least like to get this done because this is one of the areas that causes me a lot of bad regrowth irritation and ingrowns.  Plus these are very awkward and risky areas to be shaving in regularly.  Most of it I just keep trimmed quite short.

Piece of cake babe. Gotta do it! It is not pleasurable one bit but not having a hairy vagina is worth the pain. I did 5 laser sessions on it.

After SRS I would like the option to have hair down there. I do keep myself shaved smooth, and properly will keep things smooth after SRS, but I would like an option to grow hair there.

Most U.S. surgeons require it, Dr. Brassard and most Thai surgeons do not. The reason they do not require it is because during the procedure they remove all of the hair follicles from the scrotal skin and shaft.

I think the better surgons stopped the requirements because of the fact alot where getting laser done and not electrolysis. Most are still under the assumption that laser is Permanent and after they find out they have a hairy V....

Do not know, to each there own for me i did none, nada and have zero hair in my V that my husband can see. Also have to remember the scar lines that need a little help to hide.

I had SRS with Dr. Bowers.  At the time she wanted the hair removed in a specific pattern - removed from the area that would be inside the labia but not that parts that would form the vagina, I think.  My laser tech was familiar with the pattern and zapped me, plus bikini area.  I don't remember that it was particularly painful.  Now I have a cute little bush.

Different people experience different things differently.  Some people enjoy getting tattoos, some people experience a lot of pain when they get a tattoo, some don't.  To some the pain is pleasurable or even addictive, to some the pain is an inconvenience.  Mostly the pain people tend to experience is mental and it's the fear of doing something they are afraid of.  Once you get past the fear of doing something things tend to go easier.  I used the tattoo thing as an example since the pain is probably similar.  I never had genital hair removal before SRS but I had laser and electrolysis on my face.  One thing that is a consolation, I really doubt that hair removal from the genitals can possibly be any worse than hair removal from the upper lip.  Probably not as bad.

Uh - this may now be a silly question but how can you get hair INSIDE the vagina? I mean yes, I have some of my pubic hair caught up in the outer labia because the surgeons way to do the labiaplasty. I am not that happy with this and think I may one day remove it if that is possible. They touch the most sensitive parts of me there. But I dont get how it could be inside the vagina. You would have to have hair on your protuding tubular parts that form your vagina later to get hair in there... is it common to have that?

Today, a lot of surgeons use the scrotum to line the inside of the vagina.

Laser isn't permanent. You'd better get laser finished a year before SRS to see if hair actually has stopped growing.
