Took about two weeks, in between working and etc.

Cost was about $30...mostly for the lining inside. The fabric itself was found at a thrift store, $1.99 for a roll of 4 yards!

A: Wow! You made that! I'm impressed.
2: You wear confidence even better than the dress.
III. Great pictures, thanks for sharing, hon!
Hugs, Devlyn

Fantastic! I wish I could make something like that :) Did you teach yourself? My Great Aunty was a seamstress and my Grandmother could/should have been, shame it just isn't genetic :)

Yes, I taught myself...we homeschooled our kids, and one of the things we did was teach sewing...of course that meant I had to learn it first LOL!

I like this kind of thing, attention to detail, methodical, creative...for me it's fun.

Love it, nice work! While I don't design my stuff from scratch, I do take scissors to my old clothes and make them into something "new." It's kinda hit or miss, but it's lots of fun to try!

The color looks good on you.  I love the style.

Very nice Beth, I just realized it could be a solution to the issue of big shoulders....

Indeed! That's why I had to take up sewing again...a friend wants me to attend her Purple Heart ceremony "in a dress." Of course, that's hard to do when one has shoulders like I do; they just don't sell them off the rack like this.

(Incidentally, one can tailor the patterns to really custom-fit the clothes to your body....if you're X size in the bust, but Y in the waist and Z in the hips, just draw a "S"-shaped connecting line between the different lines given for each size.) <--for experienced sewers

Yes, yes! When I saw it as StVdP, I grabbed it and carried it around with me until I checked out...couldn't risk leaving it on the counter!! (That's where I'd found it--it had just been returned by a customer a moment before)

So, I've almost finished my second dress...just needs hemmed and the little collar/zipper interface snap thing put on. I just had to try it on:
