And it went GREAT! The morning started out pretty badly, the air conditioning in my car went out, and I got caught in road work on the interstate and I just sat in my old black Honda sweating away in the super hot southeast. Ugh lol. After I finally got out of that I made my way to Montgomery and thankfully I wasn't even late.

I walked into her office, she was an older lady, very sweet, very understanding, and very educated in gender identity issues. I was floored to find out how many other clients she has with gender identity issues! I had definitely chosen the right place..

I came to the appointment as a female and talked in my feminine voice. She asked the usual questions and I answered them honestly.  She told me that I have came a long way by myself, and that I am farther along than a lot of her other clients so... she offered to write me a letter! I almost exploded with giddyness and couldn't help but to hug her lol. I decided to join their support group and she gave me a lot of different phone numbers and resources (voice coaches, surgeons, even trans friendly hairdressers lol). I have another appointment with her soon. I'm just waiting for her to write the letter and I will be off to the endocrinologist.

Words can not describe how happy I am!

I am so happy for you, Allison!  And you should be proud of yourself too.

Wow, it sounds like you hit the jackpot there! Good luck with everything, I am so happy you found someone that seems like they'll work for you. For many people it can be so difficult to find a compatible therapist and in my opinion it's a very important piece of our transitions.
