i have to fax dr chett  a copy of my receipt.. but the faxing number has a pluss symbol in front of it. what does this mean?

It's just a standard symbol saying 'this is the beginning of the country code'. You don't actually dial it.

The plus (+) symbol is used when writing international telephone numbers. It essentially means "dial the international access code" - which is the code used to begin an outbound international call from the country you are calling from."
